Yeah their personalities are *somewhat* accurate to the real guys. I have read up on these guys quite a bit, so I tried to make their personalities as they have been described in books...although I took some liberties, too.

Maybe he's just mad because he had to climb up the steep side of the mesa, but it kinda looks like Felix is getting a bit of a sunburn. I most likely am wrong about that, but everyone in my family has a sunburn. So, it's kinda engrained in my mind.
