Your Brahms is brilliant, it's definitely Brahms! Brahms changed a lot as he got older: Young Brahms: [link] it's surprising, really. I suppose that's what too much beer and red meat does. It makes you grow a BEARD!
There's something about the painting of Mozart that says 'I'm just trying to keep a straight face for the portrait'. I think they should have allowed Mozart to grin, except EVERYBODY had bad teeth back then, so a big grin may have been a bad idea. Good thing the 21stC has dentists, they can all get their teeth fixed.

Yeah, my beard's coming in nicely
(I have often thought me and Brahms could totally hang out and drink beers...I'd probably drink him under the table though)
Oh yeah I have seen pics of him in his younger days. Not a bad looking dude!
I love that painting of Mozart, and I thought the exact same thing...I thought about doing a cartoon sequence about that portrait, showing the aftermath (i.e. Mozie exploding with hysterical laughter from having to sit still so long and act serious).

I don't think you should move this to scraps... it should stay right where it is.

*lol* say it, girlfriend, say it
You did a very good job... I mean, when I first saw them I immediately recognized all of them, although I wasn't too familiar with their looks. But now that I have them in comparison with their portraits... wow... especially Brahms ...

Eerie. Very eerie.
You do amazing caricatures. They are immediately recognizable when placed next to their real selves, which is impressive considering they are toons!
Great comparison.

Oooooweeeeeooooo....
Thanks! I tried to find pics of the real guys that matched my toons the best. Funny thing about these old classical guys...every picture of them looks different. I mean, just do a google image search of one of 'em and you'll see what I mean...

Well that's because most pictures of them were painted by different people. And with a painting a bit of the artist's feelings about that person shines through. It shows you not only the person on the canvas, but also the person behind the brush.

True. Most the time they made 'em look a lot better looking than they really were too. Although I'm inclined to think Mendelssohn looked pretty much like the pic here. Most of the ones of him in the later years are pretty consistent.
