This is a drawing I did about 3 years ago: [link]Well, I finally got around to coloring it. The reason: some sad news I heard earlier. For those of you who don't know, Davy Jones just passed away from a heart attack. That inspired me to dig this up and color it. Sort of my way to pay tribute I guess.
RIP Davy.

I watch them on Antenna TV every weekend
It really saddened me when Davy died he seemed so healthy, it isn't fair
I grew up watching Monkees reruns after school everyday many years ago, they were a big part of my life growing up.

It's so sad, isn't it? The Monkees were a part of so many childhoods. It was so much fun rocking out to old Monkees music. Their music was so innocent and poppy, anyone could enjoy it.

Yeah really bummed me out.
I discovered them when Nickelodeon started re-running their shows and I was about 13. thought it was a total hoot. then my mom dug out her Monkees records and the rest is history.
