Don's sketches from the War Within Vol. 1 finally in Technicolor!
I like the designs, though it's clear from close up they were fast sketches - some of the lineart is quite sloppy and rushed, and I also noticed that he changed the parts of several designs (as on the Seekers) before they were used in the The War Within comics. Still some pretty impressive (re-)designing without loosing the most important characterlooks.
I think they do look better with some colors on them though. I tried to stick to Dreamwave colors as seen in the comics. Only Mixmasters arm is purple, because in the comic it's purple on the vehicle mode, but green in robot mode. Sloppy.
Only did two shade layers and one highlight layer one this one, because I got a resit tomorrow, and I gotta get some sleep aswell.

The Constructicons were built on earth (supposedly, according to Sunbow) Could a Transformer be 'refit' to Cybertronian design specs by a re-formatting?

These are based on the War Within story line. According to Sunbow, the Constructicons were peaceful till Megatron mindraped 'm with his decepticon reprogrammer device. I think you're thinking of the Stunticons or the Combaticons.

Yes, I coloured a similar lineart to these once (which is why I didn't do Devy, since he was already done).
Of course he's been in the War Within comic as well (throughout Volume 2).

Wow. Cool, very cool. I had some doubts about TWW at first, but I ended up loving it. I didn't notice any of the Constructicons in it. This must be vol. 2?

No this is from Vol.1 They return quite frequently, especially near the end of Vol.1.

reminds me of some transformers I had when I was a kid. You could put 'em all together to make one big robot too.

i used to have that as a kid...how cool where the old transformers. Modern kids don't know what they are missing
