children are truly the victims of this world... and in so, if they survive, grow up to be the oppressors...

IΒ΄m sorry for not answering until now...
Thank you so much for your kind words
IΒ΄m glad you liked it..
Well, I was in India between november to december doing my field studies, I study social work at a university here in Sweden.
I visited many places in India where they do social work, but this was one of the most emotional for me. The picture is taken at a center for HIV/Aids, Leprosy and TBC and I took the picture at a place there for is children who most of them lost their parents to Aids and they are themselves HIV positive. There were so many children there who were so serious, they are having to grow up way too fast. Some of them on the other hand were really happy to see us and a small boy was holding my hand all the time I was there..
The child on the picture is a girl (many people thing she is a boy) and the head is most likely shaved due to Deepawali which is the Hindu festival of light. Many people go to the temples at Deepawali and get their childrens heads shaved; the problem is that the people who shave them often use the same shavingknife for a long time and that actually spreads HIV.
The name of the picture is taken from the song Mad World by Tears for Fears and is covered by Gary Jules for the movie Donnie Darko.
Is there anything else you would want to know? DonΒ΄t hesitate to ask

Well, i didnt expect those, like you told me everything you felt and lived there... That means a lot for me, believe it.
It really shivers me when i hear any story that is releated with HIV's unfinished spreading. That also shows the international politics, not understanable story of occupation, misery, poverty and suffer.. Nonone thinks how to stop these there, like the basic needs should be provided etc..
This girl in this photo may feel much more than us, deeper and intensive .. I think i'm gonna look at this photo again and again occasionally. Thanks for telling, you're so kind..

I've photoed serious looks on the faces of children in war torn countries. A child's face can be so convicting. This is a face that is very moving... wonderful photo!
