Let's start this story off with a severely generic sentence: Lara was a fairly average girl. She was average in just about every way one could possibly be average: average height, average weight, from a middle class family, and going to a State college. She did have one rather unusual trait, however: she had lost most of her ability to taste at a young age. Not due to any severe illness or anything of that sort, mind you, just in general she didn't have the greatest ability to taste. It had started when she was in high school and the biggest side effect that she found from it was that it made her crave foods that were as sugary as possible. Her parents had managed to keep her eating mostly healthy throughout high school, but now she was in college and had been left to her own devices. She had never loved eating healthily, and now there was no one forcing her to, so she snacked. A lot.

She also found a boyfriend in the first few weeks of college, but more on that later.
