Description "Have we created the perfect killer? Yes. Have we created a new quality for the human species? No… No… It's disgusting. This is something... It's a failure... A disgraceful failure. We have failed my friend…" – Doctor Wojciech Bardos after creating the first Hunter
====================================
The Renaissance Project, a half-failed military experiment of the Tenebris Organization, which aimed to create a new superman who would be able to oppose everything that is worst and thus bring man to a new level of existence, but in the end the experiment had not entirely the intended effect. The organization didn't gain a new stage of human evolution, but instead they got the perfect killer. This killer was called the Hunter.

Biology

Hunters are mutant humans who have been subjected to an experimental therapy that involves replacing the human genome with a mixture of DNA from all kinds of supernatural beings, with particular emphasis on the genetic material of angels, in order to obtain a kind of perfect human-angel hybrid that will be able to take humanity to the podium. creation to ensure total domination of both the organization and all of humanity. However, the experiment did not go entirely according to the scientists' expectations, which resulted in the creation of a strange hybrid of man and many different creatures, which was characterized primarily by incredible abilities, including regeneration, strength and more. Despite this partial defeat, Tenebris still received a new, versatile superweapon in its arsenal, which completely changed the balance of forces.

In appearance, Hunters do not differ much from normal people, and although at first glance they seem normal, after more careful observation, you can notice features such as sharper facial features, nose and ears, reptile-cat irises and eye pupils, slightly more elongated limbs along with clawed fingers, but a keen eye will also notice elongated canine teeth and pointed incisors, and if the Hunter does so, also an unnaturally long, sharpened tongue. There were also internal changes. Aside from the additional three glands that were added during experimental therapy to increase the body's performance, the main changes relate to the Hunter's skeleton, which has only changed to become harder, but also the previously mentioned changes in the limbs refer to changes in the structure of the bones in the hands and arms and legs, which have been lengthened and sharpened. It is also worth mentioning the change in the Hunters' muscle structure, which has shrunk compared to their previous state, which at the same time increased their density and, consequently, their strength, which despite everything seems to be much greater than it should be.

As a result of experiments within the Renaissance Project, four categories of Hunters were identified. Each of them corresponds to their hierarchy based on abilities and the level of their advancement:

Category H3 "Praetorian"
The weakest Hunter category in all respects. They don't have many abilities apart from basic regeneration, which is quite impressive, as is their strength, agility and speed. Unfortunately, it is very, very inferior to other Hunters. So it was decided to make them a personal bodyguard for the most important members of Tenebris, which is why they began to be called Praetorians.

Category H2
A much more dangerous category than Praetorians. Hunters from the H2 category are stronger, agile, faster and have a much better ability to regenerate damage from gunshot wounds, stab wounds, or explosion damage. In addition, they have much more sensitive senses, including sight, hearing and smell, with a strong emphasis on the first sense. The eyesight of the H2 category exceeds that of even an eagle, thanks to which they can shoot small objects from a distance of up to several hundred kilometers without a telescope or other sights, even using weapons that an ordinary person would not be able to wield.

Category H1
One of the most powerful categories that beats the other two in every possible respect, be it regenerative abilities, super developed eyesight or even absurd strength, agility and speed combined with the most sensitive senses, which, however, is often an Achilles' heel due to hypersensitivity senses, whether light, sound or smell. However, all this pales in comparison to the more interesting mutations, which are, however, very heterogeneous and often very rare. The most common is polymorphy, i.e. changing one's appearance, thanks to which some people can take on the appearance of other people, but also of animals. Others, on the other hand, may have abilities such as hypnosis, or electricity generation, or even the ability to camouflage themselves in plain sight better than a chameleon. Category H1, for this reason, prefers close combat and hidden combat using melee weapons.

Category H0
There is nothing more powerful or dangerous than a Category 0 Hunter. There is only one Category 0 Hunter, and meeting him as an opponent is a fate worse than death. If you meet him on your way, pray that he is in a good mood. Don't try to kill him, although you can try to fight him, but 99% of it will end in death for you.

However, acquiring superhuman abilities comes with a price. The higher the Hunter's mutation category, the more his abilities are a curse. While the lowest category has the weakest type of mutation, more developed versions may complain about their newly acquired abilities. While their developed senses are useful, unfortunately, due to their sensitivity, they are also very sensitive to such things as high sound intensity, brightness of light, or even smell, which will not cause them physical harm, but will be extremely bothersome and irritating. For this reason, the Department of Research and Development decided to use a few improvements in the form of special earplugs that absorb sound, or special masks, which, in addition to providing additional protection, also have two visors with blackout lenses, through which an ordinary person will not see much, unlike to the Hunter. However, they do not completely get rid of the problem, as they would then have to completely suppress key aspects of the Hunters. Another weakness is the lust for blood and tissue of living organisms, which are the only matter Hunters desire. It is true that they can also eat normal food, but their bodies especially need proteins and iron and more important elements that are most easily found in blood and meat. If a Hunter does not consume blood regularly, their body will slowly but steadily begin to overshadow their minds, which will begin to lose their minds and their bodies will degenerate until they can feed again. However, these features are nothing compared to the Hunters' greatest vice, which is regeneration and the ability to mutate their bodies. If they take too critical damage, they may accidentally mutate uncontrollably, turning them into mindless, blood-thirsty beasts at best. The Department of Research and Development stepped into action again, implanting implants into their hearts, spines and brains that controlled their physical condition and, if necessary, destroyed them, thereby killing them for good.

Equipment:

Hunter equipment varies depending on the category. Starting with Category H3, known as Praetorians, who constitute the elite bodyguard, they are issued black field uniforms along with Special Forces armor, including arm and leg protectors along with helmets and gas masks, which will often be covered by a black cloak. Due to their less sensitive senses, they also use firearms more often. The H2 category, in turn, has a special sneaking suit developed especially by the Department of Research and Development along with the most modern sniper equipment, including the latest light armor, climbing equipment, pouches, smoke grenades, and even camouflage devices. Their arsenal consists mainly of sniper rifles, anti-tank rifles, but also short and melee weapons. Category H1 also receives a sneaking suit, but these are more advanced because they connect to the bodies of Category H1 Hunters and, in a way, connect to their abilities. Moreover, as the category with the most sensitive senses, it prefers medley tactics and close combat using all kinds of melee weapons, from daggers through swords to scythes.

======================

Hunters are the new symbol of Tenebris' power, despite the fact that their creator himself was disgusted with them until the end. They are not very popular with virtually the entire Organization except for the Department of Research and Development, Health and Eugenics, and the Security Office, the latter of which was their superior for some time until they became a separate faction. They are especially hated by the Church and its Chaplains, who see them as disgusting or as "Artificial Nephelim", which often leads to friction between them. It is said that only the Chaplain is capable of killing an H1 Hunter without relying on fate. This only adds to the Hunters' elite status as the ultimate assassins, who Lurk in the darkest corners of Tenebris and will set them on anyone who is supposed to be 100% dead.
