The internet disappointed me with their lack of "walk into Erebor" jokes. I mean, "one does not simply walk into Mordor" is one of the most-quoted lines from LotR! Where are the Hobbit spoofs/jokes?It was funnier in my head, I must admit. Mostly I just like to draw Thorin. He has basically become my favorite to draw. I honestly don't know why. It's the majesty, I guess.
Also inspired by the fact that The Hobbit dvd came out today, AND IT'S OURS, PRECIOUS.
The Hobbit belongs to J.R.R. Tolkien; the films to Peter Jackson.

I absolutely love Thorin's design; he looks awesome. It doesn't hurt that he is a total badass, and they toned his raging asshole-ness WAY down for the movie.

In seriousness, they only rescue them in the first place because Gandalf did a favor for their chief. Also, they won't go past the Carrock because there are villages of men in Mirkwood, and they shoot the eagles when they get in range because the eagles nom their sheep.

I'm aware, I just enjoy the thought of using them akin to how 'How it should of ended' on youtube did for both the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. XD

Those are very funny videos. The eagle thing is still my pet peeve, especially since there would be no epic, wonderful story if they just rode the eagles.

Not to mention the time paradox with them destroying the Ring in the Hobbit's vid yet they still destroy it in the LotR's XD
But yes, comedy for the sake of a vid generally trumps that of the epic adventure and growth of the hero for a book.
