Good start, but remember that her mane isn’t rooted in the center of her head. I’ve made that mistake before in an early picture I drew, and even today I’m still kicking myself for it. The fringe essentially comes from the center of her head, but the roots then travel diagonally toward the ears. Thus ensureing that no matter which way her mane is flipped, it never looks like a straight line running along the center of her head.
Pony manes may not/should not work that way – even in FiM, but that’s how Fluttershy’s hair seems to be.

If you take a closer look at Pinkamena's hair, you can see that I did just that.
This is old and I've scrapped it and will redo Fluttershy's mane completely when I make her.
