I think that mindset is complete and utter bullshit. In the end, who's not going to Hell?You're supposed to be nice and kind, like they told you to be, right? Not spiteful little bitches that say everyone is going to hell for not thinking like you. Hell doesn't even exist and if it does, then I'd rather hang out with Lucifer than god.
What else should I add to this, guys?
EDIT: People who can't read: nowhere did I state this came from the Bible and nowhere did I state that all religious people think this way. You silly, illiterate people. c:

Before I am "judged" on my opinion, here's a simple FACT...God created man, God created man in his image, God created man with FREE WILL, and so God wrote the Bible THROUGH man correct?? Well let's just add a few of the famous lines I just stated, mix them up, and tweak them...God created man with FREE WILL who then wrote the Bible through man...hmmm...if God couldn't bend mans FREE WILL at all to listen to him before in many of the teachings, he sure as hell could NOT bend him and manipulate his mind and hand to write his scripture. Man always deciphers things individually and through the lens and filter of what each one man comprehends. So the Bible is just a whole lot of stories based off of each man's (like Moses's) version of what he experienced and thought. Sorry but I'm not...sorry. I take the morale of being a good person as a lesson from the bible, but everything else is BS. We don't live 3000 years in the past. Our times have changed MULTIPLE times over. The only things that should be "NOT" lectured, but shared are the efforts and abilities to be kind and genuine to each person (unfortunately that will never happen, but that is what people SHOULD focus on, not stories written by old men way back in the hey day) But choose to believe in whatever floats your boats (

This made me crack up so hard because I do this irl, get carried away when religious people start yakking and won't shut up. Everything we do is a sin. I flat out asked a Mexican, hardcore catholic, if passing gas was a sin.

Even with your nice bold edit, you don't exactly seem to separate extremists who think in black and white from religious people who actually care for others and put their faith to good use.

Just because someone is against one of these things doesn't mean they should be stamped with the 'SILLY RELIGIOUS WACKO' brand.
There's plenty of logic if you want to look deeper, but do carry on using the weakest argument, the least 'logical' to our society, over and over, despite hundreds of legit reasons - it makes it easier to argue that way. Straw man theory, look it up.

ahem, telling someone that they're going to hell doesn't automatically make their reasoning just because you don't like them. there are more tactful ways to say "You're going to hell" and i really think it's not cool to just randomly say that to people, seriously? it's like the west baptist church all over again. But what my church teaches is love, plain and simple, even if they don't eventually come to church. Our mission is to show that God still exists in this world through His followers... and lucifer really isn't as cool as he makes himself out to be.. reminds me of an ironic joke i heard.. if you respond, would you like to hear it?
God is love, He's compassionate, merciful and full of grace.
Lucifer is hate, wants to drag everyone down with him (the idea that if he's going down, he's going to trap as many of God's children* and drag them down with him) and he is not compassionate at all.
now i know you didn't say it came from the bible (which i fully appreciate) and you didn't say that all religious people think this way (which i also appreciate, because i would never put a hellfire and brimstone message out to a world that already hates "religion") just wanted to say my piece and maybe hear some feedback on it 
*by definition in the Bible, everyone was God's child, but adam and eve sinned and because they sinned, they passed it down to everyone else (the butts lol) so now to be a redeemed child of God, we must be saved through His grace (given to us when He died on the cross)

and while He IS compassionate, merciful and full of grace, He also can not abide sin (because He is perfect.. and before you say no one is perfect, He's God... I think He's allowed) When adam and eve were created, they were perfect too and they and God had a relationship. When they sinned, that got between them (because they chose to sin, no one made them. it's like saying to God "Even though You're the God of the universe, You're not good enough for me so I'm leaving)and even though they were exiled for what they did wrong, God still provided for them. He sacrificed an animal and made them clothes. He also gave them the promise of Jesus early on. (the verse, he (satan) shall bruise your heel but the one to come shall bruise his head. there's two meanings of bruise: the first one is a small wound, what we associate as a bruise. the other one is quite different. it's the hebrew word for demolish, destroy, completely obliterate) so you see, yes, he kicked them out of the garden, but He still provided for them. He knew He had given them free will to do what they want, He knew it would happen, yet He still provided. So yes, He is still compassionate and full of grace because He had said they would DIE if they ate of the tree. He did not deal out the full punishment. It's like getting a warning instead of an arrest.
as for lucifer, that's easy. He was the praise angel, meaning that all the angels took their praise to Him for God. However, He got prideful (which is a sin, and remember God cannot abide sin, because the wages of sin is death, He is life. Exact opposites cannot be in the same room: you switch on the light, it's all light in the room (depending on the strength of the light) you turn it off, there is complete darkness. It's not like there's still a small patch of light in the middle of all the darkness) anyway, because Lucifer became prideful and considered himself a god, God kicked him out. It's similar to a righteous king booting rebellious, rioting men out of his kingdom. They're a threat to everyone, and need to be dealt with before it's too late.
and don't be sarcastic, i had a legitimate point, you had a legitimate question and i'm just being honest. Adam and Eve weren't perfect, they were naive. and again, if god is so compassionate and forgiving then Adam and Eve and Lillith wouldn't have been cast out of Eden and Lucifer would still be an angel in heaven. i simply offered an explanation, and though i'm not catholic, what i spoke was true and i'm not going to waste my time trying to prove a point to someone who has already made up their mind what their version is. that being said, i fully understand sarcasm. please enjoy the following definition.
