Sam jolted awake....

Rubbing his eye's he looked at his alarm clock.

3:17am.
'Well at least I got SOME sleep' he thought 2 himself.
Yawning....

Stretching....

Sam noticed the temperature in his room-HOT!!!

Checking himself out he discovered a thin sheen of sweat covered his body.

He sniffed his armpits....

'Still good' he mused.

Bouncing off his bed Sam walked over 2 his window and slid it open....

Cool air....

Night air....

A light breeze arose.

Breathing it in Sam enjoyed the feeling of it flowing over and around his body.

He closed his eye's....

He lowered his head....

He placed his hand over his birthmark....

Unseen by Sam, the Overlord who had touched his mark drew quietly up from behind.

Enthralling the teen was simple enough. Mortals were easy 2 manipulate especially when young and open.

The Overlord shimmered in2 existence. Spreading out it's arms it carefully enfolded the boy in it's black robe. Sam nestled in2 it's soft embrace....

'Come away with us boy....' The Overlord whispered.

'Mmmmmm.... Away....' Sam breathed dreamily.

Sam opened his eye's and looked up at the hooded face.

'Father...?'

The Overlord pulled back his hood. He smiled down at his son. Sam was greeted by a face that was surprisingly human. Handsome. Strong featured. Blonde hair. And eye's that were as blue as his own.
Kellan could feel his son's heart beginning 2 race.

'My Son. It is time. Come away with me.'

Sam hesitated....

Confusion crossed the boys face. The bond with his parents was strong.

Kellan gazed deeply in2 his son's eye's.

'Forget....' He soothed.

'Nooooooo.... I-I....'
Sam's eye's rolled and fluttered as he struggled against his Father's will.
Kellan was surprised by his son's resistance. Usually a human, even a Halfling succumbed easily 2 his authority.
'Forget my son.... Let go....'
'F-F-forget.... Forget....'
Kissing Sam's forehead Kellan lifted his enthralled son in2 his arms. He turned 2 the others....

'Alter his parents memories and leave no trace of his existence. 2nite I bring my son home.'

'Yes my Lord' the 4 replied.

Kellan looked down at the sleeping boy.
Young....
Strong....
Beautiful....
His son. His ONLY son.

He could sense the boy's Darkling nature. Faint, but it was there. And in time with the proper training he would become something unlike The Shadow Realm or The Mortal World had ever seen.

Something unique....
'It is time 4 you 2 accept your birthright my son. And 2 take your true place amongst us.'
Moaning, Sam shifted in his Father's arms.
Then they were gone....
