That's likely, but she would be too busy freaking out over the fact that there's a large stick punching a hole through her jaw to act out on it.
And I would be a hundred or so yards away debating with myself whither to keep running or go back to help her heal the wound I made.

Sulfurs or your common moth balls.
They emit strong odors that snakes hate. Pack those while camping so they won't sneak into your camp and sleep on your belly where is delisciously warm.
