This was an experimental technique I was trying out one day. It's an awful portrait, but I think it's a pretty cool technique. Willow charcoal.Related content

Great attention to the shadows of the face. It very realistic, although I think you should extend the black line going around the right side of his face (the side thats white) just a little bit.

Since you were practicing technique, I'll say that I love the technique! I like smudgy lines.

This may be experimental buy its amazing. The imperfection actually addes to a feeling of evil in the person and the blurrness/smearing creates an ery feeling. Amazing drawing....I'll this.

Wow. To be honest, I almost thought of this as just another failed portrait (but I liked the technique so I kept it), but you've kind of showed me that isn't the case at all. Thanks man! I appreciate it
