Description
Many (or none, rather) of you may be wondering about my slight inactivity. Well, here you go. It's my art final. We had to draw a person in actual life size, so yeah, it's actually pretty big. It's pretty much my height or taller. Uh... think what you want about that I suppose. But I had to hang it on the wall to draw it. Not going to lie, it was pretty fun! I think the end result looks weird, but it got rave reviews at my class when I brought it in. So, I dunno. Tell me if you see anything strange. This guy isn't anyone in particular or anything, I just made him up as I drew him. I did this in pastels.
Wondering why the quality's trash? I have an android phone. So now you can view this in a whopping 2 pixels per inch. Amazin'. Still not joining the apple gang gang though, I like the freedom of customization

Oooh! Amazing!!! Youβre on fire! How long did this take you to finish? Coloring this must be so time consuming. R.I.P. fingers.

Yeah! This took me 3 days to finish, not that bad. But indeed, my arm was quite sore after this one lol. It was like a workout in and of itself. But it was definitely fun to draw so large!

Oh, I see. Now your arms are stronger. Haha! I remembered joining an art contest once, it was making a poster out of 2βX3β paper using oil pastels, not as big as this but it was really tiring, plus there was a time limit, adding insult to injury. I cried internally while rubbing my fingers off. Hahaha.Β

Woah, that's cool! Did you win anything? I've never had any luck with art contests.

Yes, 4th place yay! I got a bronze medal, a cute certificate, and a little cash prize, but I never joined another art contest after that. The time pressure traumatized me. XD

Oh hey, that's not bad at all! I bet if you did it again you'd place even higher

Wait, this is all pastels? Did you use the entire pack? Good gracious, I wish I was brave enough to attempt something like this. I can barely finish a piece without mashing the Ctrl+Z function.
Quite impressive, really!

Thanks! Yeah, the entire thing was made in pastels. Not the soft kind though, the ones that look like sticks. It was definitely different from drawing digitally though! When I made a mistake I had to draw over it. Very intricate stuff. But yeah, it was fun to do!

Yeah, had been wondering where you had gone, but since this was for schoolwork the dA community will excuse you for the inactivity LOL On a serious note, I think this turned out really well, what amazed me is that you had to draw this in life size format, so it must have been a big undertaking. The rough texture is interesting, as is the guy's pose. He seems a bit sinister but simultaneously has the potential to be a good guy. And it could be an aftereffect of watching Endgame, but he reminds me of Steve Rogers
The left hand is particularly well done, quite realistic anatomy there. I think right hand thumb and pinkie size seem a little too small relative to the three other fingers, or it could be the three fingers seem too large. The gold color on the belt buckle is well executed. Finally, his facial expression makes me feel he has seen some sadness or hard times, so he is reluctant to trust the world. Overall, a good piece and well done with a few select colors.Β

Hey, thanks! It was different to say the least, drawing at this size.Β But it was fun once I got the hang of it. The texture came from the wall I drew on lol.Β
And yeah, that's what I thought about the hand too! Glad I'm not the only one who saw it. And though it looks like there aren't that many colors, there's actually a lot lol. Especially purples and blues for the shadows. But it all blends together, so yeah.

Ah the texture origin makes sense now! Yeah, as you implied, the camera quality may be impacting the visible color range. The actual version must be neat to see with the additional colors spectrum used. I have to say I'm an Android fan myself, although Apple came in handy in the early days when smartphones and touchscreens were just being adopted - mainly because there were limited alternatives at that time Β

Oh yeah, totallyΒ Β
It was quite a challenge to do, as I usually draw small. But yeah, think it turned out alright.
