Description I have finished my first tutorial in Blockbench, and made this car. Isn't it kinda groovy? I can't recommend the official Blockbench car tutorial though. The narrator sounds like he's garbling marbles the entire time, and he doesn't really explain what he's doing. Smh.

I love, LOVE, LOVE how easy texture painting and UV unwrapping is in this program! I remember in Blender, it was an absolute nightmare. I just couldn't get the hang of making good UV islands. Not to mention texture baking and normal mapping. That, I remember, was like trying to fit your pp into a pinhole. Not that I have one, but if I did, I imagine that's what it would feel like. Here, it's just a button press, and boom, you have islands that you can easily edit. Oh yes, Mr. Krabs. If you wanna see, here's the UV unwrap for the car. It's so clean! Texture - Hax-Dev's Sta.sh

Anyway, I'm now a Blockbench nationalist for the foreseeable future. Not sure how fast I'll be able to make a person in it, but we'll see. I'll post if I do. I know for a fact that making monsters (like slimes and etc) will now be an absolute cakewalk. I'm pretty excited!

And the icing on the cake? File size of the exported model: 70 kilobytes. OH MY FEDORA, IT'S SO OPTIMIZED. At this point, you'll be able to run Joe Maverick on your printer. Lol. Polygon count is smallish (around 500 triangles) but I feel like it could be even smaller. Most of the extra faces come in for the pixel shading ability. So I might use Blender for extremely simple models that don't need the shading. Either way, it's nice to have another 3D tool under my belt. Viva la Blockbench!
