EDIT: I know she's a girl! It's the face and clothes I made for her that made her look flat chested and "boyish"! Geez! Enough of "you know she's a girl right?" comments! D8For a change I've decided to try drawing another character in human style besides the main six of My Little Pony.
So here's Derpy Hooves, relaxing on the clouds... I just hope she doesn't jump on it and cause some thunder. D8

Hhrn, that's awesome. I like her design, and how you put her cutie mark on her pant legs. :3 That's one thing I've always wondered, about how and where you put the cutie mark on humanized ones. I always figured patches on clothes or necklaces. Also, people don't know that her eyes are supposed to be off? That's the MAIN feature of Derpy.

If its not asking too much, would you mind adding more feminine like features to her face or something, those comments on how derpy looks like a boy in this pic is starting to get to me too

That's how I draw female faces in general, not going to change just because a few people think she's a boy, if wasn't for the loose clothes they wouldn't say anything about it.

That's ok.
But I never draw eyelashes on my female characters, doesn't look so well when I draw it on them.

Whenever I see derpy, I can't help but smile. Its a shame whats happened to her, but even if they change her, she will always be our derpy.

D'awwwwww, that's the cutest Derpy humanisation I've ever seen. Especially the braces. That only really adds to the adorable factor. <3

"I just don't know what went wrong!" DERP IT GIRL!!!!
I am so glad that she has been acknowledged as an actual character rather than just background filler like she was in season 1. And I am so glad people here are drawing her regularly!!!!
Never envisioned her quite like this, but it matches her character to a t!!!!

That's her, alright! The suspenders and half-tucked shirt are a great touch, and the crooked smile is super cute.

I don't what it is her, but she looks a little boyish here, maybe it's the big loose clothes. Still a cute boy.
Fantastic work sinner, I've been looking forward to your Derpy, and she looks amazing.

The reason that they're changing the way Derpy Hooves looks and acts is because her former appearance and demeanor are offensive to persons who are disabled. Having such a character is "ableist" and personally I think the show is doing the right thing by not making fun of people who can't help the way they appear. :/

They only changed her because a few people conplained, saying it was "offensive" to people like her... I am one of those people who should get offended - but I am not. In fact, I was all "OHMYGOSH Derpy is awesome! She's just like me!" But now I AM offended, BECAUSE she is now changed. She was completely fine as she was, and removing her name and such has made it seem like there was a problem, when there wasn't to start with.
They did Derpy as a cluntsy pony with wonky eyes... and it allowed people to see that there are others like that, and that we should be aware of them. Suddenly changing her due to a fw people who say it's bad is well... bad in itself.
I am hoping they'll change her back, to allow everyone to see that there are indeed all kinds of ponies/people - healthy, disabled, from a different land... if it's okay to keep Zecora as a different pony to the others to show different cultures in the world, then why not a derpy/disabled pony, and the difficulties that come with them? It's almost insulting taking her out, like saying "Oh sorry, your disabled, we don't want disabled ponies/people here". =/

Are you yourself disabled? Because, if so, you'll be the first disabled person I've encountered who was actually offended by her. Everypony I've seen loves her.
Also, explain how "let's get rid of the possibly disabled character because she's possibly disabled, or at least make it so she's definitely not disabled" is itself not offensive to disabled people. It's like saying "we don't want you on TV".

It was used as a source of comedy, which was disrespectful. It'd be similar to using cancer for some laughs.

You are terribly uneducated about this situation. Derpy was NOT intended to be handicapped and was NOT intended to make fun of disabled people. She is just clumsy, not handicapped. Also, the eyes were originally an ANIMATION ERROR. I have a disability and I NEVER have thought Derpy was offensive therefore it SHOULD NOT have ever been a problem, but as soon as she got a part in the show the parents of handicapped children got butthurt about it so the creators had no choice but to change her. You need to get more educated on the matter before you start running your mouth.

She was never intended to be a mentally handicapped individual. Just clumsy. The eyes were an animation error to begin with- the fans loved it! They asked her eyes be kept that way, and everyone started drawing her. It wasn't until she started getting attention, and then finally got a voice in an episode that the handicapped parents started to complain.
Hell, I use religion as a source of comedy, but it doesn't make me disrespectful to the believers, just the religious beliefs.
Should I be censored? I think not.
