Description
CGI is just a different way of doing animation, it takes practice and discipline. It's not "lazy" or "ugly" if you work on it. Many animators who now do CGI got their start in traditional animation! Disney said they weren't doing traditional anymore, so what, their main job is to entertain (and make money), but they also have to keep with the times.Related content

It's like horse-drawn carriages and silent films, look hard enough and you'll find them!

There are some CGI scenes in several 2D Disney animated films, including The Great Mouse Detective, Beauty and the Beast, and the Lion King!

Not to mention, traditional animation is more expensive, because of the prices of paper, ink, and paint, than CGI. Β However, governments in other countries foot the bill for traditional hand-drawn animation with taxpayer money.Β

Whoever said that making animated films in CGI or 3D is 'easy' and 'lazy' has never worked on a 3D program. I took the course in college and it wasn't easy, I had no idea how to animate stuff(it didn't help that my teacher was a dick to us as we never touched the program our entire lives and it was our first time using it but he expects us to know it overnight and doesn't bother to help us out) and it was hard as shit. :\
It's the same thing when others said about Flash animation is 'lazy' when it's not. I too used that program and that too wasn't easy. I'm actually learning on how to do it so I can make a Flash animation on YouTubers.

I hear you on the flash animation part.
I don't know if I told you, but I once had Adobe Flash installed on my laptop, but it go erased (no thanks to my stupidity) when I updated it to Windows 10. Β Do you know of any affordable flash software I could get?

I got my original copy of Flash from JourneyEd, so I didn't have a disc when I first installed it. Β I still have the e-mail with the download code, but I need serial code to use it fully, which I don't have.

I think I tried that once, but got no reply. Β (I'll try again, though, if you suggest it.) Β At the time my flash was erased, though, I was no longer a student at college, so I doubt they'll be of any help. Β Still, I'm willing to try.

I just checked the user who commented on your stamp and holy hell! That guy is basically a Mysticark/Titanwarrior clone. That person too hated CGI and was obsessed with nostalgia before he left DA due to him having an Encyclopedia Dramtica article.

I can tell you that whoever says that 3D animation is 'lazy' and 'easy' has obviously never used 3D Modeling program. If they used it, they'll see that it's no easier than 2D animation.

I know it's so weird I mean I've never been this way at all because I don't care about the style and only the story and so forth. I'm wanting to learn computer animation but I feel like I'll be discouraged to post any of my stuff on here and I'm tired of people complaining about how Disney should go back to hand drawn animation. If Pixar and DreamWorks can do it then why not Disney I mean they can do stop motion and anime for all I care along with DreamWorks. I can give two shits that Disney switched to 3d animation just as long as they are continuing to make new and original content unlike their crap ass live action remakes.

Ikr? Have you heard of ToonEGuy?
ToonEGuy is a 80's/90's fanboy who hates CGi Disney movies and hates the fact that 2D animation is rarely used nowadays in animated movies, especially in theaters.

MissCool123 In reply to ElijahDMGZ [2019-09-03 18:35:50 +0000 UTC]
Honestly I don't think you're a true fan of animation if you hate computer animation and you wish that 2d animation should come back. I see this a lot online and it's so fucking irritating. It's basically people saying that they like computer animation but they hope that Disney will create another hand drawn movie but I don't care. It's stupid.
