This illustration week I'm wrapping up some unfinished commission work from the year. I've got this, a follow up piece, and a closer to the RE commission series to tackle and then I'm in the clear.
It was fun working on this, especially since I had a chance to update this
version. I know it may look like I just screencapped my mac, but I've actually totally recreated every folder Harddrive and icon from scratch. You'll notice the adobe aps have different titles, the chrome icon is a slightly different design, the colors on i tunes is a bit different yadda yadda. Recreating icons by just looking at them really hard was a fun exercise in rendering.
Oh, and speaking of rendering: wading into the terrifying territory of rendered skin! I like the hard cell-shading style, and sometimes soft shading like this can come across as stiff and overworked. But hell, I thought I'd give it a shot.

So, we have a teacher and a student, maybe next time we could have a classic lady doctor and nurse duo (would be great), or a secretary and her female boss (could end having a reverse roll with the secretary becoming her boss...emm...boss), or two female soldiers from enemy countries now captured to become dancers or, or...I'm thinking too much about this. XP
