Description
The original idea of the painting was to show off my concept for the GDI Shepherd Tank. The painting had a lot of empty blue sky in it, so I added in the GDI Kodiak. Naturally, I had add in more sky to make up for the space that the Kodiak took up. Well that sky started to look empty too, so I added more and more stuff. The final image is what I ended up with. The original painting just featured the tank with a bit of empty sky above it.I designed all of the vehicles in this painting except for the tiny Predator tank in the background. FYI, I designed the Kodiak to be the size of an aircraft carrier, which means that all of the aircraft above the Kodiak are even larger! If you look carefully, you can even see a "tiny" Kodiak deploying from the belly of the big mothership.
Note to CNC fans, the mothership and the flying wing bombers are NOT OFFICIAL CNC units. I just made them up to make the painting more interesting.

If the giant flying ship can be used for a good old indoors map...

Awesome! So your to thank for all the detailed and amazing units of CnC? Instant respect on that alone!
Also, that mothership and bombers totally going into my Fanfiction! And, since it's neither canon nor does it have a name, I here by dub thee:
"GDI Absolution - Class Starcarrier" and "GDI Judgment - Class Starbomber"

Sweet Nibbly Jiblets! I just now noticed the Kodiak coming from the Carriers Bay. I thought the GST was big, That suckers gotta be the size of an Imperial Star Destroyer! I love it, even if it's unofficial.

That big boxy ship above is NOT an official CNC unit. It is NOT the GST from CNC4. It is a ship design from my archives that I put in to fill out the painting. I did that for the fun of it and not because someone at work asked me to. I just like to design heavy metal machines! Hence my name. I personally refer to the design as a "mothership" or "kodiak carrier." Since EA published the illustration, it is their design now.

There is not really a story behind the Kodiak Carrier. Please remember that it is something I threw in to make the painting more interesting. This is a NON-CANON CNC unit. The KC is not even in the game at all, just this one painting that the marketing guys decided to use. It is up to EA's discretion if they want to keep it or not. I cannot answer any questions pertaining to EA's intellectual property since I no longer work there. You should go to EA's CNC website forums and ask your questions there.

Isn't the mothership thingy actually the Global Stratospheric Transport that's in the game? Looks a lot like it!

No, that is another ship entirely. Compare the front engines on GST to my Kodiak carrier. The GST has "lit" grills in front of each engine while mine's don't (they are intakes).
Another difference is front design of each ship. The front of the GST is roughly inline with the front face of the side engines. If you look at the carrier, there is a massive cargo section that extends way infront of the front side engines.
Also, the rear engines on the GST have rounded sides while the carrier above has a blocky, rectangular rear engine.
I modelled the ingame GST unit from designs given to me. The illustration above was done 1 year earlier. The carrier design above is made from random, half finished models in my "mesh graveyard" on my harddrive. Again, the carrier is not an official CNC design.
