It's been awhile since I've had any new work to post on here as I'm still busy working on music videos at the moment. But I did get a chance to catch up on Season 8 and 9 for MLP and just had to sketch out some updated ref sheets for a certain character. After seeing what happened to the Tree of Harmony in season 9 and how it came back, I knew I had to give my girl Harmony a new second form design. Still have some things to add once I get time to sit down and finish both of these with colors and expression sheets too, but I'm happy with what I came up with so far.Β(For anyone new to my page, this character is a ponified version/spirit of the Tree of Harmony. More images of her below.)

I was wondering how she would look after what happened at the start of Season 9. I actually thought that while the Tree itself would exist alongside herself as the spirit. Sombra destroys her physical form, but because of how powerful she was when she became what she was, it only served to weaken her significantly and it is by the sheer power of friendship and hope that she was able to mantain her spirit form, and when the Tree became a Treehouse by the Young Six, it would've not only helped regained her power but also change her form.
Her new form makes me think of the kirin almost, and its funny since I actually made a Kirin form for Harmony before S9 because I thought she would look cute, as well as a corrupted form where the plunder vines are wrapped around her as if they drained her magic and instead use her as a vessel to control because of how weaken she is, and actually went as that for Nightmare Night XD

If we must account for Grogar and him being the first emperor of Equestria, i'm currently of the headcanon that Grogar defeated/overthrew Harmony to achieve said position, and Harmony would exist for millennia as a disembodied, near-omnipresent spirit ever since, until the Pillars planted their seed, granting Harmony a new form from which to influence the world

Also. Thought for headcanon. What if the mane six decide to help fix up the Castle of the Two Sisters. That way she has a place to call home since she does stay in the forest for the majority to keep it controlled. Though she doesn't always stay there and still likes to wander and explore the forest :3

Yeah! I felt a lot of new inspiration from season 8 going into season 9 so I had to draw her again with a fun new look too.
