Description
This is an original character Autobot who transforms into a Audi A3. His pose is based on Bluestreak's box art. I've not thought of a name for him yet. I'm thinking maybe, Cruise, Cruise Control or Knightrider. If you've got any suggestions, please let me know.Related content

I love the body-type for Prowl/Bluestreak/Smokescreen, those three have always been some of my favorites with Prowl being my #1 as he was the first TF I ever had as a kid. As for the name I think that Cruise Control is the best.

I've always thought their mould was cool too. Although, Jazz's was my absolute favourite, and he just happened to my first TF
Its between Cruise Control and Burnout at the moment. I prefer Burnout, but like someone's mentioned, Burnout sounds a bit Stunticon'ish, so might not suit him being an Autobot.

Jazz has a very similar transformation, yes, and always a cool character that lives up to his name. I think that there is already a newer Decepticon character called Burnout, not that it should stop you from naming the guy what you want, since there has already been both and Autobot and a Con both named Barrage, IIRC, so names can get reused across factions officially, so why not for fan characters, but something to keep in mind.

As you've already seen, Cruise Control won it in the end. Yeah I've noticed Hasbro use the same names for different characters a few times, but if I can I'd rather avoid any confusion. Although I never about any TF's called Burnout before you mentioned it.

Thanks, I appreciate all the cool name suggestions, I think at moment, Burnout's top of the list.

Great stuff! Love how the faceplate and cannons work on the design.
Cruise Control is a cool name. I reckon that would suit him.
How about Clutch or Burnout?

Cheers mate. I thought I'd give him the faceplate and the different cannons so he don't become another Prowl/Bluestreak clone. I like the sound of Burnout actually

Yes, the faceplate was a great idea. I remember in the Marvel comics they tried to make Smokescreen look different by giving him a flat face!
I think Burnout would make a good transformer name, but perhaps it would suit a Decepticon or Stunticon better. It's from an awesome PS2 game with rally cars

Yeah, I remember. Smokescreen was lucky his car mode was slightly different
True. Maybe he could be an Autobot with rebellious streak. Although there's a few too many of them already. It was one of my favourite racing games too.

Smokescreen was always my favourite one though. I loved his colour scheme and his smoke producing abilities.

I think Prowl was probably my favourite, the voice of reason in Prime's ear.

Yeah, Prowl is awesome. I've still got my original roofless one. He had no doors but I found some a couple of years ago for him, so he looks ok in robot mode now. He's one of the defining Autobot characters I reckon.

Sound's like your Prowl's been through some scraps. Yeah he's definitely played his part in TF history.

Tremedous Nostalgia Bomb from the box art pose. I seill have my GI Bluestreak, sans his box.
As for a name, how about "Ringer"?

Bluestreak used to look so cool in that picture. I never really noticed until I started to draw this that the pose is actually very awkward and unrealistic (his left leg's a lot smaller, even though its not that much further behind). Yeah, Ringer sounds cool. I'm going to give him a backstory/bio at some point which will probably influence what name I give him, but I'll definitely keep Ringer as one of my options.

You can pretty-much find the entire gallery of box art for the old Gen1 and Gen2 TransFormers online, which is esp. enlightening for those units of the series that didn't get released outside of Japan. And let's not forget those great all-hands murals that came on the little catalogs with each purchase. Some of them I remember had staged photographic panoramas, but there were also those long paintings that always featured at-least one character in the classic "multiple-exposure" transformation sequence. Good times.
And you are right about the awkward anatomy on not just Bluestreak but many of the original box art portraits. But it was just a pic on the front of a thoraway package for toys for kids, so who cares, right?

Yeah I don't know much time I spent just staring at those catalogues when I was a kid I think I've still got one of every catalogue in my attic.
I used to love the packaging art, it was definitely ahead of its time. I never really paid any attention to the awkward anatomy, at least not until I decided to use some of the pose's for my art.
