Sorry for the quality of this image, I really need to start working on paper that I can properly scan.

Going to give some descriptions, though most of these guys are old faces. Going to be talking mostly about how I've updated some of these beasts.

Starting at the left on the top row then going right, resetting for each row.

1. Got Shindaros in the very top left corner. For something I've been drawing for so long, it's very hard for me to get down a image of him I like. I have what I consider a "perfected" version of the design fleshed out in my head for the most part, but its always his proportions and his head that cause hang ups. At the moment, I'm running with this design as the base:

He would have a longer tail and a lower body similar to this image of Gigan:

The arms would be covered in tons of fingers, similar to Gamera 99 and the top half of the head would now be bone white.

I'm also considering taking away a lot of the gray colored areas on him and giving him more armor like in the Gigan panel.

2. Irugoram. For a while, I had been considering the name Nivortis for this one, but now that name has been given to this monster:

I've liked the idea of a cave wyvern like kaiju for years, so I felt it was appropriate to get into the niche once more while digging through characters I had on the back burner. Took an idea from a more recent kaiju I've scrapped and made both the front and hind limbs wings. Gigginox was a major reference in this creature in the overall body shape and the mouth like, egg laying tail. Added some long hairs as well, because what could be worse than a cave wyvern with hair? Made the underside fleshy and segmented like a maggot to contrast with the sort of frilly skin on the creature's top. Still working on this one, I'll definitely be incorporating more features from this version next time around:

3. Anguantus. I've always liked the idea of a sort of volcanic anglerfish, and I feel this is my best take on this guy yet.

I essentially wanted to combine these two takes:

I really liked to overall look of the first image, but I also feel the huge underbite and egg yolk-like eye of the second image gave the beast a ton of personality. I essentially took the second one's face and gave in the armored, stone-like look of the first's and then blew the head up in size to make it feel more like a deep sea fist. I've also replaced the two smaller sets of fins in the back and replaced them with a pair of frog like legs. A literal frogfish, I guess, considering it also has the frogfish's proto arm-flippers. Not sure what colors to give him yet, but the one on the second image is growing on me.

4. The Twin Citadel. Not to many updates here, just fumbling with the proportions a bit. The idea of a lobotomized kaiju corpse being used as a pseudo-mech always interested me and fits into my kaijuverse pretty well. This guy's faces, as well as overall colors and textures, are based heavily off of Emperor Cain from Xenogears:

5. Dyzoloth. A sort of Orga/Biollante type character based off of this unused Monster Hunter design:

Did away with the wings and made the legs much smaller, he now has sort of shambling knuckle walk. He starts off as an Orga style bruiser, but then mutates Akira-style into a much larger form with intestine like tentacles.

6. Gojira. I see I have quite a bit of explaining to do here. This design is meant for an idea for a Godzilla crossover I had. The setting of my kaijuverse was also very multiethnic, with the main character appearing Japanese and very Zuko-esque. The set up for this crossover was him traveling to a region that the audience quickly realizes was once Japan and he lead character's ancestral home. What he finds is a huge steampunk shanty city-state that has revitalized a lot of elements of Japanese mythology and ancient feudal society, which worships a being that predates all of the other life forms in the series. Like GMK, the crossover blends themes of Japanese traditions with elements of the atrocities in WWII Asia. Turns out said life form is Godzilla, though he is referred to as "Gojira" for the entirety of the story.

I can see a lot of fans having hang ups over the theropod stance used here. To be honest, I really did as well when I first saw the design Matt Frank made for me here:

However, the design definitely works in the context that was given for that image: a Monster Hunter version of Godzilla. Deviljho was a good base for that.

I just happened to find this design while rummaging through my old things (had Matt mail me a physical copy through some regretful heckling quite a few years ago). I now feel the theropod stance works for this take on my Godzilla in my kaijuverse as we as it has both the necessary bulk for Godzilla as well as a lot of personality, especially in the way he holds up his head. I imagine his fighting style and overall style of movement blends Suchomimus from the PS1 Jurassic Park fighting game with the previously mentioned Deviljho, maybe with some Vastatosaurus thrown in. Like Anguantus, he is a huge beast that outsizes most of the other kaiju in the series, taking notes from GMK Goji and Legendary G. I imagine it is black with constantly glowing dark blue spikes, similar to the Trendmasters Supercharged toy. The skin on his throat and underside would be gray, similar to the cartoon version of Zilla and his eyes would be a sort of burning gold-orange.

7. Hoshistra. Not very happy with this design. However, I do like the new tail and will incorporate it in future designs. Definitely looking at a lot of unused Godzilla The Series villains as ref material. These are a sort of zombie army for the series' end game.

8. This guy is REALLY old, a sort of cannon fodder kaiju used by numerous wasteland warlords. I originally called them "Iron Fangs" and depicted them as sort of giant hyenas with metal collars similar to the yolks on an ox. These guys are now more like quilled badgers with basilosaurus like heads and have even more cuffs and collars now. Still working on these things, but I like the direction I'm going in.

9. ADAM. My personal take on a kaiju made by a friend of mine on the kaiju combat forums.

This guy has definitely changed a bit, this being the last most recent design:

My overall take with a sort of cyborg dragon based on numerous outdated depictions of dinosaurs from the Cretaceous period. The original idea was that ADAM caused, or at least was a major part of, the world wide cataclysms that led to the fall of modern civilization thousands of years before the start of the main story. He has a death beam that comes of of his mouth and an energy shield that defends his front.
