From rooftop to rooftop she dashed, taking refuge with the shade and the shadows of the night.
The wind whipped at her face with acidic stinging as it battered her from her head to her numerous white fox like tails.
But pain was nothing, fear was a lie, and the dangers headΒ would not stop her or her quest.Β Β
Anonymity was her cloak, and the ignorance, and arrogance of modern man her shield.
The magical and the mystical had no place in this world of the learned and the modern.
Invisible they were. Even right before those mere mortals eyes...
...but these facts now offered little comfort and even less aid then before.
For now her dearest friend, her mentor, her wise advisor lay upon the threshold of death and only one soul was left
within the whole of the city who could aid her in her most desperate time ofΒ need...Β

How does the light hit the back of her thigh? Shouldn't her calves cast a shadow?

I shouldn't indulge this, but--the lower legs are not lined up exactly with the thighs, and the light is not coming from directly below.

No problem! Honestly I tend to fudge lighting a lot--with this one I actually started with the thighs in heavier shadow and then decided NOPE TOO DARK MORE LIGHT MORE. So uh, it may not be the most accurate thing in the world. >_> IT'S GLOWY, THOUGHΒ

This is really beautiful, it somehow captured my interest immediately after seeing the thumbnail. Even though the background is very simple and pretty much white, it still feels like the character is somewhere and it works very well. I especially like the feeling of movement and the colors of the shadows.

I used a linear dodge layer with a very dark red color to vaguely simulate subsurface scattering on the tails.
