how many times do I have to say "I'm back" for me to actually stay and not play video games for like 5-6 months?
so here is a brand spanking new picture from me to you
if you watch the video, this one was a black and white picture and then colored over it
It's much easier to make tones in B&W than it is in color but there is something about having the colors make the tones as well...
I tried to make most of the painting on one layer
the separate layers are for the sketch, colors, text and tiny spiders
done in Photoshop CS6

that may be true but I also enjoy making art. There's nothing like getting the right colors, composition and overall look of the image that's in your head, It's a great feeling. At least I already started my next picture >.>

thanks! I like this technique for the shading, but sometimes picking out colors individually makes things more vibrant
in the future I might see if this works for a more sunny picture

Haha, I can understand getting distracted while playing all those video games. Especially RPGs. Those are my one weakness lol. Weeks will be spent on exploring every inch of the map and doing side quests. Dx
I can easily imagine this as a final boss for a game. I think it would be really cool to fight.

Really love the lighting and shadows in this piece. The details are really good too, and that spider looks so gross lol. But if I ran into that thing I would be scared just because how huge it is. Really awesome job!

that spider is gross, that's what I kept thinking when I was drawing it especially when I got to the veins on her nasty spider butt lol
