this is such a wonder peace, I live the way the fish is just laid out perfectly like, and the tone a direction makes it feel like it was alive and not painted, .

i've always wondered how stupid those fish can be falling for those baits...now i know, coz drew the bait so real
(only the bait, nothing else is much fantastic and beautiful and delightfully spectacular about this one)lol

hahaha....well, that lure took sometime, pretty proud of it. I figured once I got it fantastic, beautiful, and delightfully spectacular, why worry about much else. lol

What a wonderful combination, ink and watercolor: )What is great about this piece is that the viewer like myself am learning also about the type of fish you have drawn. It's like watching national geographics but in a different way, hahaha, but you catch what I mean: )

Your sense of color and tonal value is one that is evident even for a person as young as yourself..Keep it up as you will certainly grow in your freedom where you are able to share other pieces that will encourage your viewer to think and hear what it is that you want to bring across..

What a wonderful comment, thank you so very much. I really do love working with ink and watercolor.

An artists dream....that my art will encourage others to think, reflect or to inspire. Thank you for such kind words.

You should make it your trademark since I have not seen this mix before but you must be the first person I got a chance to see this form of expression..The tool that you have used has given your pieces such a grounded field and one that shares depth..Further more it has such a natural field to it which at this moment in time because of the way technology is moving, traditional work seem to become less but it is the medium you used that makes a great difference in how a viewer can see a piece that you want to share: )))Be yourself always: )))

You've painted it in water color then stippled over top right Erin ?

Genius.

Congrats on the competition and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you in the nationals

Actually I inked it first then applied the watercolor. I hadn't ever watercolored before these so I was unfamiliar with techniques and what might be available for me to use...such as making fluid at that time. Man that would have been a wonderful thing to have had. Instead I painstakingly made sure nothing overlapped that wasn't suppose to. Thanks for the best wishes....

Yeah me too sometimes, but when we aren't constrained by the rules, we are free to make our own. There are some good points to it .... well maybe a couple ... or one ... or ... well ... you know what I mean.

Good girl.

Van Gogh was like us in that respect. He went to a few art classes but would get upset and quit after the teacher chastized him for not painting as he showed him to.

Later Van gogh was painting a landscape and had the paint on the canvas probably a half inch thick and it was still wet. He wanted to paint a bare tree in the center but his brush loaded with paint would sink into the thick impasto that he had already laid onto the canvas.

So being clever he took a tube of paint and squeezed it out onto the painting like toothpaste to form the tree's tunk. Then took his paintbrush and dragged it through the thick strip of paint and pull it outward to create the branches.

He quoted the fact, that the technique was not taught in any art class and by having little to no training he had come up with his own solution, where as in art class they never would have wanted him to do it in that particular way.

Sometimes learning our own way on our own can create something that's never been seen or done before. That's what makes your work unique.

Van Gogh would never have been able to amaze us with his thick raw impressionist paintings had he been broken by the teacher's yoke that he was supposed to paint in a particular way.

Thanks John....I'll never regret a mistake in art...maybe mistake is the wrong word to use, maybe there are no mistakes in art as creativity allows us to make them....hmmm just discoveries.

I remember when something didn't go my way back when I was starting out and I used to to point out my mistakes to others all of the time. After hearing countless times that they would have never have known something was out of place or off if I hadn't of told them.

After a while I stopped mentioning it. Now I never make mistakes .... haha
