Description This may be my favorite thing from my graduate studio course...I got very inspired by the mummy art of and decided to try my hand at creating a little dead friend. Spent a lot of time looking at Incan mummies as reference and collecting suitable materials.

I've decided her name is Mag-di, though I have no idea why. She's about 10" long, with a wire armature wrapped in a ton of fabric scraps and medical gauze. Her head and hands are Super Sculpey (the new love of my life) over some Sculpey Ultralight, painted with some new craft acrylics (DecoArt) that I absolutely love because they dry matte instead of shiny. Her necklace is turquoise and wood beads, her pouch contains crushed lavender and the talisman is bone, feathers, leather cord and a blue bead.

...aaaaand people keep telling me she looks like E.T.

Can it be pointed out that your name for her is perhaps unintentionally clefeather, in that it sounds 'magpie' combined with 'die' that of pi and 'DI' is abbreviated for 'deionized' water.
I loved what I d-read from it anyway.
