Description
Here is something of a preview to what will appear in the ninth chapter of Gundam Build Fighters: Phantom's Flight for my readers. This here is Danny's second Gunpla, a customized Gundam Epyon from the Gundam Wing series. The reason for why I chose Epyon for Danny is that I was thinking of a Gunpla that would be the Dan Phantom (TUE) to the GM Phantom Striker's Danny Phantom. There are other Gundams that could have fit the analogy but Epyon stuck out the most. However, I wanted the Phantom Epyon to be more well rounded while still retaining its close quarters combat design. The end result was me playing with the Epyon's biggest weakness, its lack of long range weapons and the hidden features that Danny installed in Phantom Striker. On the forearms are small beam cannons between the green talons (the ones on the left arm are hidden due to the small shield). The power output of the cannons are comparable to a standard beam rifle. On the shoulders are machine cannons like the ones found of Wing Gundam Zero. The front skirts are capable of being launched and deployed like scissor anchors much like the Crossbone Gundam. The white sword the Phantom Epyon is holding has a feature where the edges of the blades open to activate beam blades that give it a flame like appearance when the cord on the right side of the skirt armor is connected. Ironically this feature was not added when this drawing was finished. The small shield which commonly known as the heat rod has been reversed, making it a freeze rod and is used to grab an opponent's limb and freeze it so that it would break off.
Another important feature is that within the hands of the Phantom Epyon are anti-beam deflection units called I-fields. An I-field is a defense system that causes beam weapons to curve around the mobile unit that uses it. This defense system is powerful enough to withstand beam cannons from battleships and possibly much higher powered beam weapons like the Wing Zero's twin buster rifle (however there is no proof that so it is more along the lines of speculation). I-fields are commonly used by large mobile units called mobile armors of the original Gundam timeline, but there were a few mobile suits that can use the I-fields such as the Unicorn Gundam and possibly its sibling units Banshee and Phenex while the Crossbone Gundam X-3 made the best use of the I-fields. For Phantom Eypon, the I-fields will give it full protection from beam shots by opening its hands, but at the cost of it using its sword and freeze rod. Also, the I-fields can only be used for a short while as mobile suits that use I-fields cannot use them infinitely as their generators will overload and force a shut down. The same is also true for mobile suit type Gunplas for the sake of fairness. The I-fields are also useless against ballistic projectiles and point blank beam weapon firing.
The last special feature the Phantom Epyon happen to be the green flames on the wings, the ankles, the shoulders, the sides of the head, and the V-crest antennae. This is a system known as the Wings of Light which can be used offensively or defensively depending on how the pilot uses it. For Danny's case, he uses it offensively by increasing the output so that the Wings of Light would be able to slice enemy Gunplas just by flying past them. The parts on the head and shoulders are used for ramming attacks which is very dangerous. However, the Phantom Epyon's Wings of Light cannot be left on for continuous use can weaken the Gunpla's frame and armor.
Despite how impressive Danny made the Phantom Epyon it is not overpowering. In comparison to the original Epyon and the Chimera Epyon that appeared in chapter eight, the Phantom Epyon is actually weaker than the Chimera Epyon and is only slightly better than the original Epyon. This is because Danny originally made Phantom Epyon for display purposes, which also led to it lacking its ability to transform into its two-headed dragon mobile armor mode, but the damage the Phantom Striker sustained in the previous chapter was more intense than he thought. This forced Danny to use Phantom Epyon until Phantom Striker is fully fixed and upgraded.

Victor: To use such a dangerous Gunpla, you must be desperate

Well given how it is weaker than Chimera Epyon from chapter eight and possibly to other more powerful Gunplas such as Nightmare Gundam, I wouldn't call it dangerous. Phantom Epyon is more of a glass cannon than a lightning brusier in terms of competitive balance. Danny is only desperate because he didn't have the time and parts needed to finish Phantom Striker as the next match left him with no time to get replacement parts from another GM Striker kit.

I was referring to the symbolism

Well the symbolism is there but it's more of a case of irony that Danny would use an "evil" Gundam despite not being evil himself.

doesn't mean Victor won't make a comment on it, and react to it in combat.
especially if he would initiate combat variant G-13

Too bad the comment will go over Danny's head, and what is this G-13? I get the impression there is a Gundam reference but my mind is coming up blank.
Then again it doesn't help that my mind is trying to create a Danny Phantom/Shin Megami Tensei crossover.

Its a small quip I thought of. Most of the light console system follows standard cockpit usage from the Gundam. G-13 (as in Gundam Fight 13, which G-Gundam is at) emulates the Mobile Trace System, by the Gunpla directly mimicking the Fighter.

And I guess with Victor being overdramatic, He believes each Gunpla is a reflection of the Builder/Fighter, and with the symbolism each Gundam can have, misinterpretation will come up.

well, the light sensors would mostly be at the main joint areas, just like the MTS sensors are.
