Nice work ~ I think the border is great ~ It makes me feel
like I get to peek into someone elses private world ~
I like the way the mask seems to have some depth ~ It's almost like the magic mirror in snow white ~ keep up the good work ~

First off this is very cool. I was a little disappointed when I saw that you had used stock, but I looked at them and you did major work to the stock to get achieve this.
I love when people try to give meaning to a piece of work that was not intended by the artist, so in respect to that here is my story. The mask seems to be made of stone, a very strong substance. It protects the wearer, but when it is pierced, we see that it was really just made of glass as so many peoples 'masks' are.
--
I think the bullet hole seems shallow. The mask gives a feeling of depth whereas I get little depth from the glass. This is because of the substances of the stock. If you could make the glass feel thicker, as thick as the mask appears, I think its continuity would be better.

I agree

"I love when people try to give meaning to a piece of work that was not intended by the artist, so in respect to that here is my story. The mask seems to be made of stone, a very strong substance. A very nice story indeed That's one of the aspects I like in my works: the different things people see in them. To give you an example, 'Invention' [link] holds the current record, as far as I know, with 5 different stories.

"I think the bullet hole seems shallow. The mask gives a feeling of depth whereas I get little depth from the glass. This is because of the substances of the stock. If you could make the glass feel thicker, as thick as the mask appears, I think its continuity would be better."

Well, to be honest, I don't agree with you there. Both the mask and bullethole have depth, and the only place where you can see the thickness of the material, is in the bullet hole if you ask me.

Thanks for your comment anyway

this is an amazing piece, i dunno if there's supposed to be a message in it, but i see one and i like it very much. the pale mask, with one direct hole like a headshot.

None of my wallpapers so far (except for 'Blue Moon', perhaps) is designed to contain a message...it's cool you see one, though

Wow, this is a nice piece. Great blending, and nice choices I love your ID too, it's cool. BTW, do you know if the mask is made of wood, or of stone? I really can't tell

Thanks, a very nice comment

As for the material, it's very thick glass, as far as I can tell

mulletproof [2003-11-06 17:12:06 +0000 UTC]

the fact that the mask is placed at an angle really adds depth to this piece, although i think the border gives a feeling of constriction - which, of course, may or may not have been intentional.
