"Gage Antares and his podracer speed across the sands of Tatooine, during a revival of the Boonta Eve Classic."

I felt like making some Star Wars fan art after finding a cool, highly detailed engine model.

This turned into one of my favourite bouts of kitbashing in recent memory. Podracers are rather recognizable and I needed to balance between that look and still making it my own. I didn't want to straight up rip off an existing one. I think I got there 🙂

A big part of what made this work was generous use of making surfaces invisible and the geometry editor.

Postwork was done in Photoshop. Tried my hand at SFX and I hope the dust trail looks good - I like the recoloured 'flamethrower' smoke for kicked up dust 🙂
