I like dragons, so sometimes the urge to draw one comes uppon me. At first, I wanted the girl and the dragon to do a graceful dance of some kind, but since thats quite tricky to nail I went for a simplified approach. I guess he is a some kind of silver dragon?
Reference for the girl.
Painted during 3-4 evenings in Photoshop CS2 with a Wacom Intuos tablet.

It's a fantasy book by the young Spanish author Christophe(r?) Paolini, about the rebirth of dragons and it's becoming slightly famous ^^ the writing is average but there's an excellent story to it.

I haven't seen a dragon pic in ages. Great work! I love her lace and his sheen. I am gonna have to nitpick the legs though... why are they angled against the movement of his body?

I wanted the dragon to fly vertically while twirling. You see this better in the earlier progress steps on my site, and then I wanted the girl to do a slight twirl in the opposite direction. At the end, this wasn't too visible any longer, hehe. Thanks

This may not have been the "dance" approach you were originally looking for but it still has a similar feel. I really like the pose and lighting on the girl. She definitely looks like she's having some kind of go round with the dragon. Definitely a favorite.

I like the folow of this, but is she supposed to be flying on hew own? She doesn't really seem to be supported by the dragon. I've typed a post to this four times, right now its kind of hard to think straight, [link]

Yeah, she is supposed to fly on her own, they are kind of twirling slightly in opposite directions
I just read your journal, and that event sounded quite horrible. Personally I'm a little scared of larger dogs, so I really admire people like you who takes care of them and are not afraid to do so. This is what makes it even worse that she got bitten. I really hope her hand heals fast and well, and that you all get over this traumatic episode.

Thank you for the good thoughts. She kept having visions of what happened to Linda, or worse, happening to her. The curse of a good artistic imagination. Bob and I are just tired, due to the around the clock medication schedule.
