Description
I finally had the chance to watch Disney's 'the Song of the South' today, and I loved it! I had to draw ol' Br'er Rabbit right away. This is about the first time I added some kind of background to the image, I think it looks much more interesting this way. It's done in aquarel paint and colored pencils.

I feel pretty lucky seeing this movie. My best friend gave me a bootleg copy of a disk for Song of the South so I've seen it at least 20 times. The sad thing is, is that I'm practically the only kid in my school who knows about this movie...

Oh my god, how were you able to watch it?!? Disney has not released it on DVD or VHS! You lucky ducky! I am quite green with envy....anywho, I love the watercolors-this is really gorgeous! I love how soft and lush it looks! And I adore Br'er Rabbit-he's so adorable and funny!

For some people the film may seem surprisingly racist, but it's pretty clever and funny, espelly the whole laughing place gag.

I really don't get why they banned it in America.... At least Splash Mountain's still there.
Tenminste hebben ze "broer Konijn" nog in Nederland. Maar ik mis die accenten in die versie T_T

apparently they thought it made African Americans look bad... ironic how now movies feature African Americans shooting people... and i think that those movies should be banned I mean... I'd rather have my race be shown singing amoung cartoons than shooting people! meybee that's just me though.....

You've captured the spirit of the character quite well. To think I nearly about this guy after all this time, when the stories of Br'er Rabbit were the first stories I ever read in school. Very nice job
