In 2018 I got the Catdog Complete Series on dvd because the show looked... interesting I didn't expect nothing outstanding from it but I decided to watch the show anyway.

CatDog is a show about a Cat and a Dog stuck together and have to live with it. Throughout the show there will be characters being cruel to CatDog (mainly Cat) and try to ruin their life. I think the cruelty in this show works because they do it in an entertaining enough way with fun slapstick, making the show a riot. This show has so many things to appreciate besides the comedy, such as the soundtrack, acting, wonderful fluid animation, and many memorable characters. I think the most important thing about this show is actually the main character (or characters) CatDog. CatDog is a unique and funny character and Cat and Dog bounce off on each other so well and is the reason why I think this show was so good. The show was very creative with plots just surrounding CatDog and make the most out of it. The show is far from perfect though, because not every episode have good timing, so there's a couple amount of unfunny, and even sluggish and boring episodes. Seasons 2-3 had better timing than the first season which is why I think its the peal of the show, CatDog was a solid show…. until...

Season 4. The humor isn't Catdog. The slapstick isn't catdog. The characters aren't Catdog. This season isn't Catdog. Outside of a few amusing moments, this season failed to make me laugh. The episodes are more forgettable, dull and just uninteresting plus the cruelty isn't even funny at the slightest, it's just… bad and very repetitive. Season 4 is pretty much just all the elements that didn't work in the older episodes, and just dump them all here. This season is so unbelievably bad, so many episodes have bad attempt at humor which is sad because I know that this show can be funny, seasons 2-3 were great! Everyone's complaints about catdog all applies in this season, I like most of what 1-3 had to offer but this season is just a bad episode after another, with the one exception being a random great episode near the end of the season. But at the tail end, the last episode is "Meat Doig's Friends". Which in my opinion is not only my least episode of the series, but also the worst episode of any TV show I had ever seen. Look, there are bad episodes in CatDog that can really sting, rather it be too meanspirited even for the show's standards but Meat Dog's Friends combines all the flawed aspects in this nicktoon and ends up being a total diaster. The script for this episode was doomed the moment the bare idea was brought up. It has THE most nonsensical writing I've seen in any tv show, all the characters are unlikable, and the ending is a giant middle finger to folks who once respected this show. The crazy thing is that this technically isn't a series finale, it just happened to be the last episode produced for this show but my god they coud not have chosen a worse episode than this. Okay now I shall try to get this dreadful episode out of my head... anyway, with that all being said I kinda suggest watching this season if you are somewhat a CatDog fan and have seen a few episodes from the older seasons JUST to be dumbfounded by how bad this season is, its so bad its kind of beautiful.

Overall this show is DECENT. Catdog may not be everyone's kind of show which is easy to understand but whenever I'm using the tv and there's nothing on except CatDog, you know what I will be watching. I wish I could give this a higher rating but season 4 despite being small, hurts this show a lot and season 1 wasn't thhhaaaat good.
