warning: unintentionally, a good portion of this review is me semi-ranting on the show's jokes and comparing to rick and morty. I didn't know I would go on that topic for so long but eh I'm keeping it.

Another scorecard of a show that came out this year! And I'm two months late, fantastic! I know that Inside Job was hyped mostly for gravity falls creator, Alex's Hirsch involvement. So did it end up being good?

Yes. Inside Job is a really fun show with a good premise. It's basically Men in Black if it was a cartoon with... suggestive humor. Yeah, I know a lot of people do say this show is not like Rick and Morty outside of the artsyle which, yeah it is very similar but honestly I would disagree. Because there is another element that feels very inspired from rick and morty... which is in the comedy department. Rick and Morty is amazing and part of why we love it is the humor. It's brilliant on a lot of levels but there is a section of the jokes being.... raunchy. However unlike the last show I watched, Santa Inc. This show had a limit and knew when to not go too far and end up being mindless junk. Yeah, some of the humor in Inside Job have the raunchy jokes that would feel in place for early Rick and Morty. This wouldn't be a problem but they can go overboard and do it a bit too much. Well, when they don't oversell the racy gags the show can actually be smart and funny, though that's not the main reason why I love this show. I adore the stories. They are cleverly written with some twists and turns to keep you invested, I love that this show has tons of conspiracies... and also make fun of it. The show gets insane and can get very creative. The characters are solid enough and I cannot wait to see the next part when it comes out.

Part 2: Just as good as the first half. This time we have an arc of Reagan Ridley being in a cute at first but soon kinda rough relationship with someone named Ron Staedtler. This love relationship was well done and I'm really glad this show strays away from taking overdone and cliches routes, I'd they have to do it in order to move the plot they well be subversive or make it very quick. This show is smart and clever and always does something different with a unique twist. Also more episodes with subplots on other side characters made me love the show even more, got me more used to these characters that j already liked. The season finale was beautiful, well done, more leaves a lot of speculation for the next season and just an overall touching end to this wonderful season.

Overall this show is GREAT. I wasn't the biggest fan of Ghost Protocol but the rest is pretty good stuff. It's even my favorite currently airing cartoon. It's pretty consistent, really funny and I love the characters and stories. Glad Netflix renewed this show for another season even with the current state of Netflix's eventual downfall.

1/9/23 edit: Nvm. Season 2 unfortunately got cancelled. Fuck you Netflix.
