Description Illustrated in Deleter #4 Black Drawing Ink (with Deleter White Ink for the eyes) with Crow Quill Pen on Canson Smooth 9x12 Bristol Board.

An illustration of Dr Henry Jekyll and his misanthropic alter ego Mr Edward Hyde. It a story I had not illustrated as of yet but I wanted to do an interpretation of.

In the beginning of the story Jekyll is transformed into the smaller, younger, cruel, remorseless, evil Edward Hyde, representing the hidden side of Dr Jekyll's nature brought to the fore.

As time goes by, Mr Hyde grows in power. After taking the potion repetitively, he no longer relies upon it to unleash his inner demon. Eventually, Mr Hyde grows so strong that Dr Jekyll becomes reliant on the potion to remain himself.

This illustration depicts Edward Hyde becoming the dominant personality over Henry Jekyll.

Although, I made Hyde large and somewhat rough looking. I did not want to make him a complete monster. I wanted to leave a somewhat gentleman quality to the monster he was becoming.

Goodness. It almost looks like Dr. Jeckle and Mr. Bionic Bigfoot.

1. Jekyll
2. In the book, Hyde was supposed to be shorter. At the very least, the Alan Moore's version was said to be bigger as he gained more control

He does Actually, I had based him on a friend of mine who is this large guy with this booming voice. But unlike Hyde he's probably the nicest guy you'll ever meet.
