Total impro illustration ^^Began with a portrait exercise, then a detail cam here, another there, and here comes the witch :-p
Total fun too, but I got lazy in the end, so I am nervous about what you will think of it.

This is absolutely fantastic. I'm curious whether you use a pad or draw/paint directly "on screen" and if you have a compelling reason for one over the other.

I use an ordinary tablet, but I don't know if I'd prefer to draw "directly on screen" for I never tried.

Indeed, she don't have a belly button for two reasons:
First, when I don't really know what I'm drawing (when it comes to characters), I consider it comes out from my brain, and there's no uterus inside it (thus, no placenta, no umbilical cord, just an idea).
Second, this one became an early concept for Alansh'rahh'nin, a goddess of my world, and she didn't born, she was created. Thus, the whole thing matched ^^

She's her own "good twin" ^^
To make it simple, she's a schyzophrenic character (more or less like Two-Face): her first role was to raise up men souls, but she inflicted them tremendous pain to reach this goal.
Their excessive suffering corrupted her soul and body, making her hate them as much as she loves mankind.
This characteric is shown through the four magic fiels she's associated with: life an death, healing and disease.
