Eh... My mind goes there. What can I say?
Switching gears, starting a new portfolio set... Almost. I learned a few new things between the next couple pages and the finished set, so this one is going into the "to be redone" pile - specifically, redrawing a few panels to make room for word balloons, putting more gutter in there so that the page can actually breathe. Definitiely gonna' have to totally revamp panel 4 - it's much too busy.
Also trying my hand at Sonix X sequentials. It's fun in its own way, a much more modern and city setting and all that, something I'm very familiar with drawing. Anyway... Filler for now, gonna' sit down and redraw this page. ^^

Haha! Thanks. It isn't a Combot specifically, though that was on my mind. I didn't bother to look up the reference for it, so whatever similarities that 'bot has to a Combot are pure "I think I remember that..."

No really, all it needs is the camouflage design on its armor, and it could totally pass for a combot. I have an issue of Sonic with "Spaz's Sketchbook" and his designs for the combot are CRAZY AWESOME.

Only critique is that Amy has very little expression in panel 2. I can't tell if she's worried or angry, to be honest. But otherwise, very nice indeed. On a sidenote, what pen do you use?

Pen, or pencil? ^^ I like to sketch in ballpoint pen. But when I'm doing a page like this, I use pencil. I sketch the page with a 2H mechanical .5; I then erase panel by panel, using the very light, indentation as a guide on which I really flesh out the pencils (using a 4H and 5H).

You know I really like the detail in the buildings, and I'd like to see more of that incoperated in the panels! It'd really add a plus to your portfolio!

Haha! Thanks Tigs! Alas, there isn't TOO much BG detailage in this set. For the portfolio, I was doing one set action, one set talking again. And on action pages - especially as text-heavy as the Sonic X pages are (even during action scenes) - there usually isn't much room for BGs.
(Ie, those buildings in panel 3 - an editor looking at this page and looking at the script would probably have told me not to even bother drawing them in, they'd just be covered by the word balloons.)

I do sketch alot in ballpoint, though - my sketchbook for four years in highschool WAS my school notes, so it's sorta' what I'm used to.
