Description Working up the final inks... then getting feedback from my client/art director (its great when your art director is an illustrator, and they show rather than struggle to tell). All this work commissioned and overseen by by Ugly Studios, Norfolk, UK. [link]

... then plotting how to scan the final inks, and adding colour in Photoshop.

I've tagged on the shots of the work in location in the new Narthex in Norwich's Roman Catholic Cathedral. This way you can see why the drawing was produced at the scale it was.

It's pretty satisfying to see your work in situe like this too.

I'll elaborate on these a little more in my "apophenia inc" blog [link] and here when I get the chance...

Meanwhile, if you have any questions about my process, ask away...

g.

...

Sorry again if these are posted in the wrong category - but there is still no choice for ILLUSTRATION > Trad/Digital > Heritage/Historical in the drop down... This neither fits well into the Traditional > Illustration > Storybook section as its finished in Photoshop, or the Digital > Illustration > Fantasy as it was hand drawn and in Europe, history actually isn't a fantasy...

Thanks for sharing, this is very inspiring.
Being a fan of architecture myself, I can only be amazed by the work done, the required patience and the dedication for sharing this here on DA.
Thanks again for all that, I will look at it again and again as a reference for sure
Did you have any other similar piece of work done by any chance?

Hi... I have some other cutaways on here... but to fair, I try to avoid them if possible... They tend to be very time consuming, and I'm much more fun oriented these days, laughs.

But thanks again for the kind words.

I know it is quite time consuming. Till the end, it becomes less and less funny. Especially when we notice small mistakes that need to be fixed.
Great job anyway, I actually love it as much as making a full time job out of it
It reminds me an italian artist called Francesco Corni. Google him, he's brilliant!
Thanks for sharing again
