was re-stringing this one day and figured since it was just a plain guitar with nothing to make it stand out from the crowd, i would give her a new set of clothes more sharpie fun !! glad you like it .

thank you so much im really late coming to the guitar playing age wise but that WILL NOT hold me back this is a really cheap ass guitar but i bang it around pretty good at work while im practicing. its not like i have 8 guitars right next to me with a drum set you my friend need to take more guitar and music photos. i loved the amp photo in your gallery. i just love anything to do with music

wow!! Thank you! Thank you for taking the time to look through my gallery and read my journal!
I will submit more in the future- I've just had a lack of good camera for the past little while It's never too late to start playing music, and guitar certainly is forgiving and inviting. Love that guitar! It'll love you back!

im adding you to my watch list so when you put some pics up i can get to see em i suck at playing but im getting better. i know so many people who play professionally and im so envious of their talent but hey none of them can draw a lick so i guess thats something huh and boy do i love my guitars

everybody has there main talents, and you know the more you play the better you'll get! Try to learn "Good Bye Blue Sky" by Pink Floyd. It's an awesome prop-worthy song and it's actually pretty easy to play. Be weary of crappy tabs! And thank you for all of your kindness! You're awesome!

i'll definatly look into the song it makes it so much more enjoyable to practice when you like the songs your practicing on. i was falling all over myself learning "norwegian wood " on acoustic but i love the song soo much hopefully in another month i'll be able to take my guitar back on the boat with me at work. then i can play for hrs on end i'll put it down long enough to do a few drawings !!

Pammymcb [2011-01-15 04:27:29 +0000 UTC]

So when you did this, was it already lacquered, or was it natural woodgrain and you clear coated it after?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

hesterkin In reply to Pammymcb [2011-01-15 04:37:40 +0000 UTC]

it was already lacquered. i just drew right over the top of it. sharpie is supposed to be permanent but i have found that constant rubbing during strumming will wear it down.i havent looked into spraying a clear coat over the drawing but im told that will work. this guitar i picked up on ebay and i dont have alot invested so i just kind of played around with it. i take it to work and play it out there. my everyday player i went to restring it on day and had my pens handy and just started drawing. i didnt think i wanted to mess with the spray at that time. i may get around to doing it this yr some time.

Well, my cousin said that he could either send one that is lacquered or not. I think I will ask for one that isn't and have it lacquered after.

thats probably the best way to go. it was a blast drawing on mine i was constantly moving it this way and that.banging the head stock all over everything. it reminded me of drawing on cow bones.much more difficult than a simple piece of paper. but the results were worth the effort. it'll be cool to see yours when you get it done

funny how we have this conversation you must have brought me luck jimmy from work calls me and says his boy is moving and he has a couple of old guitars he's getting rid of. im there in a flash and score two very beat up, totally unplayable (without some repairs ) guitars. i will do what i can to make them presentable but i plan to draw on both of them and if nothing else......wall hangers !! one i know i can fix and already have begun to do so. the other im not so sure. nothing is broke but seams are popping out all over. gonna need alot of clamps and glue. very cheap guitars but thats ok. i dont plan on playing them. ohh and one of them is PINK i so love it

repairs ongoing and i have this idea in my head of what im gonna do with the pink one. i have to check a few things out first and then i can start on it. oh this is gonna be some kind of fun. i would definatly tell you but that would put to much pressure on me to turn the idea into a reality. it wont take long to get it done i hope. you are now my official good luck charm bask in your glooooory !!!!

thanks i just used a big fat sharpie. i did some testing first to see how it would go.after it drys it wont come off as far as i can tell but when you first put it on it will smear pretty easy.it blended right in with the finish on the guitar and it really smooth and very shiny. i have wiped it down several times and nothing seems to be coming off so im happy i'll do the next one totally different as soon as i can find a light colored one. all my others are black.

XD No probs, man.
Yeah, a friend of mine is a guitarist and the lead vocalist of a band. He's been playing for many years, and he told me about the toll it takes on the fingers.

I understand totally, buddy. It has your art on it, so its even more personalised to you. Now you just gotta rock it into submission.

i have this particular guitar at work so everyday i put a few hrs in on it ! now that i know what to expect on how the ink reacts im gonna get another one and do a much better job on it. when ever one does something for the first time i always think i should have done this or that differently so the next one will be a little more detailed. this one being the first it will always have a special place along with the memories of the hrs of practice !!
