Description
In the first half of 2023, I was challenged to design a unique ZX Spectrum game based upon the Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back. The idea was to create something that showed more of the movie, more faithfully than either the old Atari arcade game or the more recent - but still retro - games for the 8-bit and 16-bit consoles from Sega and Nintendo.

This is the first of three phases to the last full level, in which the player controls Lando Calrissian as he attempts to rescue Princess Leia, Chewbacca (carrying C-3PO) and R2-D2 before they're whisked away from Cloud City by the Empire's Stormtroopers. Lando is unarmed, so his best bet is to activate Lobot, who can organise additional troops... but it may be possible to rescue them without.
