Description
This was a supervillain I thought up and was working on due to my not understanding a request. She turned out pretty good, and it seemed a shame just to throw her away, so I set up a custom scene with Beautiful Neutrals lights (that I changed to blue, as you can see). The base character was a G8 with Frankie skin and Aibell and EJ Vera bodies with a mix for her head. She was rendered in Daz, and specifics about the wardrobe or hair and shaders used will be supplied on request.Once a biochemist named Tanya Tredeaux, she was working on gauging chemical reception in the brain during sleep cycles, and when an experiment went awry, she gained the ability to manipulate brain waves. Nightmare now has the ability to psychically project waking phantasms into creatures' consciousnesses, but generally can only affect one creature at a time in high-stress situations. When threatened by multiple aggressors, she can focus her power into the physical world. This creates an illusory mask on her that affects all the senses and can even cause harm due to bio-feedback from the brain. She doesn't have much control over this aspect, appearing as different horrors to different people. Those that are prepared mentally can resist through willpower or drugs. Her powers will not affect creatures without a consciousness, but as long as they can effectively think, they are potential targets.
Unfortunately, the stress from her new powers has warped her mind so that now she seeks to bring the whole universe into her "dream realm". As fanciful as that sounds, her powers and intellect are both real and formidable, and she can cause a lot of damage pursuing her far-fetched goal. One more thing of note -- as her powers are not the most reliable, she carries vials on her bracers with various chemical agents. These tend to be physical enhancing drugs (she doesn't care about the side effects) and quick acting nerve agents that disperse in the air in a few seconds, but she can of course tailor-make agents given time.
Nightmare usually provokes normal people with access to dangerous weaponry to assault her target while she observes from afar. Based on how the targets are handled, she will craft the chemical agents she thinks would be useful and can use her nightmare ability on creatures she has seen. She refuses to to learn martial arts or gunplay, believing those the tools of thugs. She doesn't seem to have a problem driving others to use them, however. She prefers to work solo, as supervillains that are around her more than a day or two quickly learn that not only is she very off-balance, but her nightmare ability builds up in those around her, almost like being exposed to a dangerous agent in small doses over time. Not threatening in the short run, but noone is sure what the long-term effects of such exposure would be.
