Before I begin- I don't mean to offend anyone:

But Balto 2 and 3 have to be two of the worst sequels to a film that I've EVER seen.
The animation... don't get me started...
Its just more than terrible. I could upload dozens upon dozens of things that I can comment on... there's barely a bit of it that lives up to Balto the original.

Its just such a let down. Balto 1 was such a huge part of my childhood, and only for it to be murdered and made a mockery of by its predecessors, its unbearable to watch in places.

I was gritting my teeth today as I watched Balto 2... but I managed to watch the whole thing again and this scene in particular got to me.
She's so ugly!
What happened there?
She should have been a beautiful majestic wolf hybrid... instead she has cat-like eyes (where did she inherit THAT from- neither Balto or Jenna look like cats) her eyes are so close together, a TINY anime-like mouth, and look at the face on that nose!

And what happened to all that detail in the fur that was so lavished into Balto the original?
Balto 2, was put together by different animators. The style completely changes between Balto 1 and 2&3

In Balto 2 the 'wolves' all look like overgrown mutts... part Alsatians with drooping hind legs... humped backs.... and massive chest cavities... they barely look like dogs sometimes, let alone beautiful wolves.

At least- if one is to make a sequel to anything- at least keep to the original character designs... without changing the whole look of the film
In my opinion it looks like it was put together by a bunch of amateurs.

Alright, I don't claim to know anything about animation. But I know what looks decent. I know its an expensive job. And low budgets can limit films.

But Balto 2 & 3 would be three fold more popular if they were animated properly. The characters barely have shadows most of the time.
The plot isn't all that great, random useless characters appear constantly... like that yappy terrier that announced the arrival of Jenna's pups... and what was up with Borris's voice!? He sounded like a twit through the entire thing... the original Borris was at least wise. The second Borris comes across as a goofy idiot.

Not to mention that HUGE error in the plot in Balto 3- where borris can't fly... RUBBISH! He FLEW in both Balto 1 and 2! They really were scraping the bottom of the barrel when they came up with that idea.... and his girlfriend goose that had the purple (?) hair? Since when have geese ever had hair? Why don't they just give them all clothes... make them sing and dance like in a musical?

*sighs*
Sorry to rant. Again, I apologise if I've offended anyone. But that is truly my opinion on the film. If you're planning to watch Balto 2 and 3- don't. Save your memories of the first film, and don't spoil them with the second and third extentions.
