It failed. Everything had failed. Cinder Fall’s plan had failed. Someone had discovered her virus to control the Atlesian forces and know they were looking for her. She could not believe that this had happened, it was all going perfectly.

She hid in an alley to avoid any security forces in the surroundings. She had never been angrier in her life. It was there that she reunited with her subordinate Emerald Sustrai. The young girl wanted to know what to do now, and Cinder responded that the mission could not fail. They will do an attempt to reach and kill the Fall Maiden. There was no way Cinder could go back to her boss without the mission being successful.

Keep going with the mission was a certain death, so Emerald made a choice. While looking outside the alley for a chance to go, Cinder suddenly received a cloth to her face, and tried to scream, but everything got muffled by the cloth. She tried to free herself, but Emerald grabbed her tightly with her free arm. Cinder moved with all her strength, for Emerald it was like holding a wild beast, that luckily was getting weaker due to the chloroform. And in just a minute, Cinder was finally out, but she didn’t fell to ground since Emerald was still holding her.

Now Emerald was speechless, unable to process what she had just done. She had drugged her master and was now holding her unconscious body in her arm. It was something strange. Cinder was always so imposing, but now she looked like an ordinary woman, specially with that peaceful expression in her face. There was also her height, his was the first time Emerald looked down on Cinder, it was always the other way around. It was then that she noticed that she was missing her heels; one was a few meters away, probably got kicked away during the struggle, while the other was next to her foot. It was curious how a pair of heels could make a difference. Emerald even remembered some fairy tale she read once where the princess lost a shoe when running away.

But now it was no time to be thinking about any of that, if they stayed there any longer then their enemies would find them. Emerald put away the cloth and carried Cinder in her arms, with no concern about her heels on the floor. The priority was to go to a secure place. Her master would certainly be mad when she wakes up, but it didn’t matter as long as she was ok. Cinder saved her life a long time ago, so she now wanted to do the same even Cinder didn’t wish for that.
