There was someone I was talking to ah... over notes, I think, who mentioned something about drawing some anthros bees. Anthro bees! I love bees! So I thought I'd try out one of my own. Balancing the bee aspects and the human aspects while trying to create an even vaguely attractive creature was difficult. The result is ah... interesting.... and the consequential noselessness bears an unintentional resemblance to the artwork of a certain snogger. Sorry, man.This kind of style is like a pink feather boa: fun to try on for a minute or two, but definitely not something I'd want to wear all the time. If I ever try an anthro bee again, I'll likely ditch the anime-esque look and go more for purely alien and freakish, a real mix instead of something so toony.
It deviates from my usual style a good deal, and leaves me somewhat unsatisfied, but that's what experiments are about. It's very poppy and mod, where as I am not. And also very warm in color, which I usually don't do.
Anyway, I realize it looks strange. Man, it's hard mixing insects and people XD

I think you did a really good job on this. You did well mixing the aspect of insect and human. Especially the sunglasses representing the compound eyes of an insect and the fuzz on the jacket resembling the fuzz on the bee. Its an artistic liberty that many old time animators took. Methaphorical respresentations or the real creautre in fantasy form.
P.S. Sorry for the long post, but this piece really made me think....

wow- it's a wonderfully unique idea! Everything about it is great! The warm colors give it an air of.. "honey" XD and it does look sort of pop-art-ish

Besides that I really like this piece. I once did a Bee-Furry and I must say you pulled it of much better than I did. (Although, in all fairness, I was still learning to draw seriously back then.)
Hmm... I think I know who you are talking about - nose-wise. It amuses me at how people are connected on dA. I often forget that a lot of people watch other people. Does that make sense? No... Okay, yeah, I need sleep.
Anyway, I love this piece. I admit though, that I might not enjoy meeting this fellow (if he were real) because insects scare me to death... *laughs*

I understand your feeling on this one, but I rather like it. A lot! Yep, it's quite difficult trying to meld human and bee together (I think I failed at a scorpion mix some time ago...) but you did a great job here!

I think that you blended the human and insect characteristics pretty well, even if it did come across more anime than you really wanted. It'd be great to see what you come up with that's a little less fluff. Either way, this is still cute. I enjoy the attention to detail (the fur on the jacket is fun, as well as the design on the pants-leg). Kudos.

Very nicely done. It is difficult to combine traits between humans and anything with an exoskeleton while still hoping for attractiveness; I could almost suggest replacing a human's skeleton with one similar to an insect's, only still intenral if that makes any sense. i like it though, and I've never tried it but I was just saying the other day how odd it is that there aren't more anthro bugs....
