Description
A silly continuation of:Dwarves seem to have earned a reputation for being brutish and rough which I hotly contest. Yes, they're fierce warriors and like to bash and hack the shit out of enemies, but they're also metal smiths and let me tell you, metal smithing is the FIDDLIEST FUCKING THING ON THE PLANET. Until you've spent hours precariously balancing a ring on a firebrick, poking a tiny prong setting into place, applying flux and a microscopic piece of solder, and then fighting to keep it all exactly as you placed it until the solder melts, you cannot understand what otherworldly patience and finesse dwarves must possess. Even blacksmithing requires a lot of minute and careful maneuverings as well as some serious bashing power. Stout stature might suggest otherwise, but immense strength is very useful for delicate work because your body doesn't get tired so easily and slip up. Smithing also requires an unusual attention to detail because one tiny little setback might mean a hundred hours of cleanup.
That is why, whether dwarves are cutting gems, settings stones, making knives, or massaging elves, they are probably the most gentle, careful, detail-sensitive people in Middle Earth.

Whoa, that's excellent. The comic is hilarious, but at the same time, you sure do have a point there! It makes so much sense now, I suppose I'll never think of dwarves the way I did before :3 And actually, that opens some serious possibilities to explore in stories, whether LOTR-based or not! Awh, I'm helplessly in love with anything that goes against stereotypes and proves them wrong, so you just made my day with this thing!

Haha aww, this is great! I love how you draw these two <3 You really capture the lovely contrast between Elf and Dwarf. Just a note on the last panel though; Legolas looks reaaally tense or in pain. I actually thought he was pretending to like it to spare Gimli's feelings at first. Because we can't see most of his expression (and of what we can see does not look particularly euphoric) and because of his body language, he doesn't fit his dialogue to the degree that it looks sarcastic or forced.
