Description
I'm strangely attracted to beasties that have human heads and animal bodies like the sphinx, manticore, harpies, etc. Especially stilted, kind of gawky one.I could lie and say that this is my balance assignment but it isn't. I was just doodling after a day of commission work and this is what popped out.

I love sphinxes, especially if they have nice looking wings like this one has!

An interesting rendition of the sphynx for sure, she looks a little confused though. I'd LOVE to see you do a manticore!!!

Very nice I like how you drew the paws, I find paws very hard
The only thing I've never liked about sphinxs is that their necks are either too long or too short... but that's just me

This is awesome. I have the same obsession. I don't know what it is. But something about weird creatures, lanky and awkward ones, with human-like heads and animalistic characteristics is fascinating. This is really a beautiful image. I love the expression on her face and the delicacy of the lines you use. You have such wonderful draftsmanship skills.

D: Makes me sad seeing this because of the tears. But I LOVE IT anyway
I just get sad when I see tears in art or real life, but that doesn't mean that this work is bad, it's really beautiful

I think I know why she looks so sad. Her wings seem to be in the middle of a moult. Never a fun time for beings with feathers. *nods*
(Hooooooow can you make pencilwork look so goood? Gah.)

No, very itchy >:F
Pencil is sort of my comfort media. It's what I'm most accustomed to. Which is probably why I don't do a lot of it. But I like to come back to it now and again because it is so natural and enjoyable.

After reading a comic that has a Sphinx as a main character, I'm drawn to your rendition! I especially love the elongated neck, it goes right with the other interpretation that I keep seeing.

Great work. Reminded me of Caresses by Fernand Khnopff, a prominent symbolist and painter of women as the femme fatale. The female body is connected to a body of power and androgenized so that she becomes both an appealing figure to males and a deadly, powerful figure as well.
Love it!
