Description
I experienced the Greek Island of Santorini (or Thira by it's old name) as a paradise for photography. This is really how Greece is always shown in the brochures! The photo is taken in the capital city of the island, Fira. This city is situated on top of an old volcano rim, 800 feet up from the ocean) that remained from one of the biggest volcanic explosions in history about 5000 year BC. The volcano however is still active and it's last eruption was in 1958. As I just come back from a 4 weeks trip to Greece I have lot's of work to do as it comes to photography. However I could not resist finishing this shot and submit it to DA. I hope you like it.
