Description
Concept Art for David Weinstein's Azureus Rising. Please visit the website and check out the final proof of concept shortfilm!
I worked as art director/concept artist on this and created the designs for the scorpion tank, flying drone, cars, architecture and gun turrets and also painted key frames.
Keyframe illustration for the break & enter sequence in the video. This is also shown in the end credits

Top "[link]" seem to be wrong (in a way that it doesn't lead to AR page, unlike others in the AR art).

This looks like it could fit in the Matrix somewhere... Like a prequel.
I love your lighting design here.

Very cool, the streaking neon lights is almost like your trademark for every sci fi piece you make

I love the distant feel of the smooth paved foreground to the foggy city backdrop.

Yes, your concepts work well in the video and I do imagine they will work great in the game aswell.
Btw, you didn't answer one of my questions yet; is Azureus the name or nickname of the 'hero' seen in the video?

not sure, i guess it the hero's name, yeah. And this is not gonna be a game but possibly a movie!

Oh? I thought you meantioned game in there somewhere.
Well, I'm sure I'll watch it when it's released!
And maybe just to brag I'd tell ppl i know one of the leading designers/artists behind it.
Hope it gets done.
There is just too few awesome sci-fi movies, and far too much stupid romantic comedies.

Yeah, of course!
Go and upload a massive amount of awesome art while iΒ΄m getting sunburned in Scotland (true story)!
Na, seriously - great stuff. Love them, especially this one has an awesome sense of scale. The lights look great in all of your recent cityscapes, itΒ΄s gotten a bit softer and realistic, or am i wrong? Anyway, really impressive, once again.
Gotta check that site out now....

you know what's funny? These were painted back in 2007!
So I must have gotten worse with my art, yeehaw!
have fun in scotland!

Haha, now i feel really bad!^^Β΄
No, i think itΒ΄s just because (city-)enviros and technical stuff are your specialty, thatΒ΄s where you really rock. The recent ones have mostly been characters (or fairies), because of this exact comfort-zone reason i assume.
Not worse, just different.
Btw, is there another part of AR coming? The video was nice, so cool to see your concepts in 3D and motion... i only missed some plot or narration. Kinda style over substance, but oh well. Definitely nice to watch, though!
(...and iΒ΄ve already been to the scots, thatΒ΄s why i was so upset to have missed your pack of new deviations~)

well, good or bad is in the eye of the beholder. Cityscapes might be my forte, but creating them is rather boring for me and no challenge really. I consider my best pieces to be the ones when I felt I learned something and broke out of my confort zone...
the proof of concept wasn'T meant to present any profound story whatsoever.

First to coment (increduble):
I wacht this shortfilm. Short, but great work...he, he, he...
I hope that David Weinstein can get financing for the movie is plans to do. In C.G. animation please...this could be a break in the sameness in C.G. animation (all derivative of Pixar...you can't deny that).
