[link] I worked as art director/concept artist on this and created the designs for the scorpion tank, flying drone, cars, architecture and gun turrets and also painted key frames.
The Seeker Drone concept. The model is extremely close to my concept which makes me so proud!
It was meant to resemble parts of an Apache AH64.

Solid design! I really liked the sequence with this drone in the short film (not as much as the scorpion tank though)....
The animated 3D version had elements that made me think of a cross between the hovercrafts from the Matrix and the H.K.'s from Terminator.

thanks! Orthos are tedious... it helps to use lots of guidelines so every edge lines up. It's tricky to keep all the views consistent. A lot of guessing involved obviously.

Curious, you guys just do this for publicity to get some bigger industry jobs? And is the studio akin to say... Blur? In its endeavors that is. I loved the designs in this, not to mention the energy in the film was just wonderful! As are all the beautifal concepts you made for it. My only Quam with the film is the DBZ hair... made me a little ill.

I don't know why, but I like these blueprints even more than than the final illustration, which is also amazing btw. Concept sketches just do it for me.
I would have liked to see this design imbued with slightly more organic/animal-like movements in the film, like they did with the scorpion machine creature. The fins seem perfect for it.
