So I asked you guys what to paint in terms of fanart/redesignsand I chose one of the most iconic evil guys
I'll try to pick up some more of the suggestions though. Thanks again, folks!
I ended up sticking to the original design mostly although I had started out with plans to make it a redesign. So it resulted in this weird mix. Ah, whatever.
1.5h, it's been a while since I made a speedpainting...
it's clearly not the best I could do. Careless planning without concept.
Lol, maybe this will get me hired to work on some SW property again

edit: not sure how he looked feminine (I must have been drawing one too many girls), but I made some tweaks, also changed the helmet which I realized was really off after I checked some ref.

Unlike typical Darth Vader, the one you produced look like a fusion of him and Starkiller. Like he is more likely to beat the snot out of you as opposed to just standing there and choking you with the Force. Incredible workmanship.

This is probably the first time I've seen Darth Vader in the way I thought he should look. The armor and clothing are more form-fitting and proportionate to what I saw as Anakin's physical build. Made my day; good work!

I love how much stuff you're getting for this. Yeah, I guess I could see how people could think he looks feminine, but he's still unmistakably Vader.
I am personally in love with this. The colors, the embers floating around the bottom, the challenging pose, and I actually like how he doesn't look so big and bulky (Not that there's anything wrong with his original design, because I mean, it's amazing). I like how he looks light and athletic. : D

If I may, he looks feminine because he is more slender, his pectorals are exaggerated and he has a narrower waist than he should.
Vader should be big and his body is pretty much straight up and down, especially in that jumpsuit with the vertical lines.
The head and shoulders look good, but then it gets disproportionate.

Funny how slight changes in anatomy can shift genders lol
I think it's only because people have a very fixed understanding of how Vader looks, so anything slightly less imposing (making him slender for example) will take away his masculinity. I think calling this version feminine just because he isn't super bulky is a little exaggerated though...

There can be skinny and masculine, there just has to be the right balance.
