did this for the IDW activity @ CA.org:'MOTHER MACHINE'
The Birthplace and nurturer of all the genetic childern. Mother Machine is responsible for the caring, hatching and growth of all breeds. A mammoth of size and a true marvel of technological feats. Mother Machine, is a true vision to stand before. While Mother Machine is stationary(non-mobile), she does have defensive measures; such as automated turrets and threat sensors.
I constructed a grid (red lines) in PS7 and printed it on brown paper. Then I sketched with 20% marker and inked with
tech-pen 0.1 & 0.5, digital coloring in PS7
no ref.
dunno how long it took...
wanted to mimic trad. marker render style.
sometimes I wish I could use a 3D prog...

hehe, danke! Ich werd mich mal beim forum erstmal anmelden, aber wie gesagt, momentan bin ich einfach zugeschüttet mit Arbeit und werd da sicher nicht viel im forum aktiv sein...
Wie du sicher gemerkt hast, gabs auch schon länger kein update mehr. Liegt daran, dass ich für persönliche artworks einfach keine Zeit hab grad :/

Diesen Stil von Entwurf habe ich aber lange nicht mehr sehen können. Der Stil gefällt mir übrigens gut, aber das erwähnte ich schon letztes Jahr. Men erkennt eine gewisse Entwicklung in deiner Art zu entwerfen. Die anderen Sachen waren nicht so extrem konturiert und man sah weniger die Hilfslinien des Konstrukts, was nicht schlimm ist, sondern nur mehr das technische Gefühl vermittelt.
Die Lichtkontraste sind ebenfalls hier stärker ausgeprägt. Und deine Maschinerie wird komplex, komplexer, absolut kompliziert...ich könnte das nicht bauen...

That's beautiful. And how interesting, you printed out a grid on the paper! I've never thought of doing that, very clever. I love the design. Truly incredible. It's a neat angle as well. :+Fav: Love your work.

vor allem diese konischen aufsätze im oberen teil gefallen mir, die geben der sache neben aller brachialer technik eine gewissen eleganz.
ich bekomm nur das bild nicht ganz mit dem text darunter zusammen - ich meine, ich bekomme weder eine vorstellung, wo die 'breeds' untergebracht, aufgezogen und ernährt werden (oder wie das ganze zeug an sie verteilt wird), noch erahne ich irgendwo die 'defensive measures' (zugegeben, es wär wohl auch praktischer, sowas versteckt zu halten).
es ist einfach ... irgendeine stylische maschine, die so ziemlich jede funktion haben könnte.

Hast schon Recht. Im Kontext mit der Funktionalität ist es nicht so ganz überzeugend, sieht halt aus wie ne irgendne Maschine, ja :-P
Ich hätte zum Beispiel den Maßstab noch extremer machen können, also sodass das Ding noch gigantischer wäre. Dann hätte man sich vielleicht eher vorstellen können, dass einiges drin vorgeht in dem Teil...Oder ich sage jetzt einfach: dargestellt ist nur ein kleiner Teil des gesamten Komplexes. :-P
Die defense measures sind übrigens schon sichtbar: an der rechten Seite des Turm sieht man so doppelläufige Knarren- 2 an der Zahl

Indeed a extra-ordinary rendering and display of ID!!! THere is a school here(Detroit, MI, US) called CCS(Center of Creative Studies) which teaches some serious ID, but they charge $650.00 USD per credit hour. Very expensive, so the value for your skillset is extremeley high and well deserved..Keep up the awesome work !!!!!!
